Oddly, the left hand side of the lens seems to produce much less spherical distortion than the right, although all the corners are blurred.

Bigger doesn't always mean better, though, and this screen isn't particularly detailed, bright or clear. In manual mode, the sky's the limit, allowing a multitude of complex, arty, and amusing images to be taken (with the original taken alongside). Got a great bargain as well with a spare battery, 2GB SD card and a nice solid case and a mini tripod. It came out very good in the tests with sharper images than the others and also image stabelisation and a 4X optical zoom.It has a luxurious LCD display, a fair number of scene modes, advanced settings, and automatic image rotation. Data transfer *may* become a long-term issue - I prefer to remove the SD card and insert into my PC - I can well imagine the compartment door protecting the SD card either wearing loose, or breaking - the alternative - direct connect to PC via USB works fine - but I'm not a fan of the Canon software - prefering Windows to manage the transfer. Making the most of its three-inch LCD screen, the IXUS 65 lends itself to those who prefer to show off their photos immediately. Problems: CONS Two design disappointments: materials feel and look rather cheap, the metal is replaced by plastic.
