About this deal

I love this scent, there's something magical about it, fresh, watery, tingly sparkly, small sweet flowers on the dry down. One of my signature scents. Other one is J'adore Dior so make of that what you will. Cool water is a very salty fragrance, fresh and unisex. Except for the calone, this is hard to smell one note in particular, this is a real blend with a discrete wood note, a watery lotus and a slightly there cantaloup. A true oceanic, almost realist as if you smell and taste a bit of sea water or as if you have kept some salt from the sea on your skin.

That's exactly how it smells like! First spray and instantly lemons hit you with their juicy freshness which settles slowly in a hour with a very cool ozonic vibe which later settles into some smooth creaminess which is prolly from the sandalwood, vanilla and musk notes This was my fragrance in 1998 when I was 21 and lived a carefree life. I loved it, went through a bottle, then moved on with my life. I bought a new bottle last year. I am a young guy so I do not have any nostalgic feelings when I use this. It is ok in my opinion. I like the smell alright. Its a very fresh out of the shower smell. Very clean. It did not last very long or project for me unfortunately. I prefer more sweet fruity scents, so I really did not care for this. Overall meh. People say this frag is suitable for the older demographic but for me. This actually smells good. It's a familiar soap/shower gel from a nice hotel smell and that's what I can really relate this smell with and im not saying that's a bad thing. I was wrong. VERY WRONG. The opening is nice and smells like you’re fresh out the shower. 15 minutes later, and it smells like stale grease you left sitting in a frying pan. And it was STRONG too. I began feeling extremely nauseous and had to scrub it off, open my windows, turn on the fan, spray 3 other perfumes just to get the god-awful, nauseating deep-fryer grease smell to go away. I immediately put it up for sale.Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. The opening is quite sharp and astringent, reminding me of a swimming pool but in a kind of nostalgic way. Melon is instantly noticeable after initial application and stays there throughout development, I get a lot of waterlily and something that feels "grassy" along with a cold dewy sort of feeling from the calone. I can't say I notice any of the other fruits or florals and the pencil shaving woody notes of my previous bottle are non existent. Cool Water dries down to a light melon shower gel skin scent by about the 3hr mark and stays like that until I take a shower. I almost threw up when I put my nose towards my arm to soak in the scent. This was my first bad experience with a scent and unfortunately it has not improved over the years for me. It was a huge NO for me in 1996 and when a friend bought me the perfume as a gift in 2010, it was the first time I ever returned a gift because I knew I would never wear it. Thankfully, she knew I was not that type of rude person and gave me in another perfume in exchange that I wore with joy.

A gift from my then-boyfriend, now-husband - I loved this perfume! I wore it to my first job and received quite a few compliments. I love the aquatic freshness, it's a fun, lovely scent. GIT lasts longer, projects more, richer, deeper, more complex, greener and dries down muskier than CW. Cool water is a good name. If the water is next to mountains in a forest. Alpine would also be a good name.

Fast forward to a few months ago. I bought a Cool Water dupe from a wonderful woman who sells perfume oils. It intrigued me. So I found a good deal online and bought a 1 oz bottle of the real perfume. This happened to me many years ago, and I still get flashes of that moment today. Oh the trauma! That someone special has been history for almost as many years, but that moment got me thinking long and deep about spending my money on expensive fragrances that have proficient doppelgangers. Well of course I never learnt my lesson, but I have been more careful and considered before handing over hard-earned dosh. In my opinion, this fragrance is one of the best aquatic fragrance for ladies. I'm a guy and I feel that this is a unisex fragrance. I own a bottle too. For me 2-3 sprays are enough. This fragrance is cheap at my place, has great longevity on my skin and smells amazing. Subject to availability. Visit your nearest store. (Availability in your nearest store is not guaranteed and some products are available in selected stores only) There is a reason for this perfume to be most places: It is good for the man who wants to be "fresh" and likes the marina life.

Yes, it is true that our noses and olfactory senses change as we grow and become accustomed to newer scents in life. However, the extreme manner in which Cool Water has been destroyed is not simply due to maturing olfactory senses. What Davidoff has done to Cool Water is a tragedy and it is very real.Doesn't have to be explained much further because it's been done thousands of times but one thing I'd like to note is the fact that some batches of it are awful. In my opinion, an amazing fragrance. The opening is heavy on the aquatic scent, very projecting in the beginning. The dry down on the other hand, has intimate sillage but for me it's an amazing fresh pleasant smell. It's definitely a fresh daytime summer fragrance. It's for casual wearing, wouldn't wear it when going out at night. Could also be a nice summer office fragrance. The performance is pretty good on my skin, I get more than 6 hours. Update: This smells very unisex to me (which I like) so I let my younger brother have a spritz before a date with his girlfriend, since he really loved the smell on me. Apparently she did too, and wouldn't stop hugging/sniffing him the whole time lol. And this is a girl in her late teens. So to the menfolk our there, don't be afraid to play around, with "women's" perfume. The idea of gendered products is a bit silly anyway. Wear what you like. It's just not the same. This was a power house fragrance in the late 80's/90's. It was a literally a lung ful of ocean spray where ever you went, whom ever came across it, but in a good way. and it's name was perfect for such a product. I remember this smell following me around at school as everyone seemed to be wearing it as a must-have for some reason.

Only now much older and more exposed to other Parfume houses did I realise that it’s very much like GIT. honestly I almost cried... not just because cool water still amazing but because of the memories that get alive with this scent.i don’t know but it gives me the feeling of childhood days, when i smell it i always imagine myself swimming in the middle of the ocean at night while the moonlight is shining,or i imagine the sound of the big ocean waves clashing,or i imagine myself dancing while it’s raining,it’s all related to WATER! Great value for money, although the re formulation is disappointing, as it does not last as long as it used to. I read a review a couple scrolls down saying this smells like grease/deep fryer once it settles in your skin. Bought the perfume and didn’t think it would apply to my skin chemistry. It is barely even a hint of its former self. If I had smelled this blindly, I would not think "Oh, that must be Cool Water" nor would I think "That smells good". I would think "Who is wearing that extremely faint insect repellent or boring cleaning product?"
