Note: the picture below shows the top of my mat on the left side of the picture. If you have debris on your cutting mat then it may translate to looking like bubbles under your vinyl because it is pushing up on the magnet. There may also be imperfections in the printable layer of the magnet that will make your vinyl look like it is not completely pressed onto the magnet. Pulling the tape off the vinyl may cause a bubble or two. Person A walks into the kitchen, perplexed at why the dishwasher is running again. Person B clarifies that she had no idea it was already clean…no green light…not totally full…andthey simultaneously shake their heads at their crossed wires and their doubly cleaned dishes. Sigh. And that’s the second time this week! Might this lil number be of use to you, too? Well, then, great! I’d love to share some freebies with you. I have the Dishwasher Magnet designs in two different file formats, so everyone gets to play: a free Silhouette cut file for those of you with a Silhouetteor digital craft-cutter and a free PDF printable for everyone else! You can simply buy the Printable Magnet Paper, print the design, and use scissors to cut the magnets out. Easy as pie! With the vinyl still on its carrier paper, lay it on the magnet and line it up so the top and left side of the sheet is perfectly lined up to the magnet sheet. You can now remove this from your mat.Start with the magnet that you still have affixed to your cutting mat (that is now covered with vinyl or that you painted) and your cut vinyl that should already have the transfer tape applied from Step 1. One of the main disadvantages is that clean dirty dishwasher magnets can easily become outdated or worn out. Over time, things like water spots or fingerprints can accumulate on the surface, making it hard to tell if dishes are clean or not. Additionally, because these magnets are usually made from plastic or metal materials, they can fade over time due to sun exposure. There are straight edges in this layer of cut vinyl that you can use to align this layer to the vinyl-covered magnet. If you have the more opaque style of transfer tape as I have, then you may want to trim some of it away to help you with aligning this layer. They throw away scraps that are larger than your cutting mat. These are some options to do instead of a layer of uncut vinyl. If you do any of these then skip Step 2.
