About this deal

High Stability] Rising-G acoustic guitars are durable, with temperature and humidity having no effect on carbon fiber, as it still works well under temperatures ranging from -4℉ to 176℉. RISING-G PRO deliver consistent performance no matter the environment. The guitar arrived for the most part not set up. The action was high and the truss rod set without tension. One half turn of the truss rod and removing the two shim strips under the saddle solved the problem. It could use some work at the nut also. Intonation was acceptable. The second guitar is the carbon fibre Donner. It sounds richer and bigger and is very easy to play after I adjusted the action and took one shim out from under the saddle. Unfortunately, it's too small for my adult sausage fingers. Decent bass response as well.. I had to admit that the crunch tones were the ones I least enjoyed with this Donner, but it doesn’t mean this axe sounds bad with crunch, it just was just not my favorite use for this guitar. But crunch tones of this axe are still really good for the price.

Carbon Fiber Soundboard] Rising-G selected the VocalTech full carbon fiber soundboard after 79 acoustic tests. Carbon Fiber's damping is constant across the acoustic spectrum, resulting in a treble that rings with crystalline clarity to a warm bass without being muddy. It releases energy more freely during vibration, that's why it brings you a richer layering of sound and prolongs resonance. The guitar is not the best choice for more experienced guitarists looking for a solid guitar to play live performances or make recordings. Although the sound is excellent for a budget guitar, I’m not sure it would satisfy an experienced player looking for specific characteristic sounds. I got approached by Donner’s staff member Brandon, and he offered to send me products to test and review for free. I was flattered, but at first, I declined. I didn’t want to become like the Youtubers who produce commercials for guitars and rarely disclaim that they got products for free or even got paid to produce content. But I started to have second thoughts…

As I mentioned before, Donner DAG-1C and related models are specifically made for beginners. It is a straightforward acoustic guitar with basic specs and everything you need without luxury. It can be easily said that the model features a lot of value for the price. It is the perfect guitar for players beginning their journey as a guitarist who does not want to break the bank account. My main consideration is the body itself. The top is very thin carbon fiber (so they say). The body seems to be ABS. Examining the inside, there is no bracing of consequence. There are only two 1/8" finger braces across the body, each radiating from a bridge plate. They are a good 1" short of meeting the sides. In fact, under the stress of standard tuning the top deflects 1/8" just above the bridge towards the bass side. Any more deflection would affect intonation and possibly cause separation at the top edge. It would seem that one of the main functions of carbon fiber would be to resist bending. The top to side lining is partially kerfed on corners but mostly just a thin strip of plastic. There is plenty of cement squeeze out and run. Related Post: If cutaway is not mandatory for you then there is another model, Donner DAG-1S, available with a non-cutaway dreadnought body shape and an eye-catching sunburst finish. 2. Donner DAD-812 Beginner Adult Guitar

Impossible to play out of the box. Action was probably 1/4” or more. Needed a lot of setup. To get to the specs I noted above, the truss rod is tightened all the way and I removed the shim from under the bridge saddle (why would they even put that in there? It made the action ridiculously high.).The carbon fiber looks great and seems stable. I tried leaving the guitar in the sun to heat up. It still stayed in tune and sounded fine. I may have gotten a return item because the truss rod cover is chipped and there are surface scratches from strumming. In general, they are no worse than other cheap guitars but don’t expect perfection either. Are Donner Guitars Good for Beginners?
