About this deal

My hot water was 92.3°C at 8:05pm, and by 8:05am it was 57°C – a temperature drop of 35.3°C after 12 hours. It’s still “warm” – just not as warm; and certainly not pipingly hot. My cold water with ice cubes is 5°C at 11:02 and 12 hours later its 3.5°C. The 18-8 flask is from the renowned brand Stanley. Stanley has been serving people since 1913 and this model is truly legendary. No other brand apart from Thermos themselves can boast such heritage. Dimensions The original and, judging from the results of our temperature test, still the best. This stainless steel flask is very durable, with a silicone base to protect against dents. The two-part stopper closes securely yet pours easily and has an integrated cup. In terms of outright heat-holding performance for up to 8 hours, nothing can touch the Ultimate Series. It was the best-performing flask we tested overall. It is relatively lightweight too. And if you’re concerned that the 500ml capacity will be too small, it’s worth noting that Thermos also makes a larger 900ml version. Full Specifications

Don't leave food and drink in a flask for a long period of time Bacteria can breed and this produces gas. Pressure then builds up which can force the lid off the flask. This flask has a familiar design with a classic ‘pop’ stopper that makes for easy pouring. With cheap, inferior flasks these are often prone to leaking but with this Outwell version the component seems well-made and reliable. It certainly didn’t leak on test. It’s a simple, inexpensive flask that makes use of a classic tried and tested design. The wide mouth makes the flask easy to fill and clean, while the cup’s plastic liner ensures you won’t burn your mouth. On the other hand, it is fairly bulky for a 750ml flask, with a small cup compared to some other designs. The external finish is also a bit slippery and prone to scratching. Full Specifications If you are searching for a great value thermos flask at the lower end of the budget range then we don’t think you can do much better than the SMARDY Vacuum Insulated Water Bottle. This is a compact size flask with a smallish capacity of 430ml – this is only enough for two cups of tea.Nothing beats a hot brew when you’re tramping around the hills on a winter hike. It’s like we’re hard-wired to appreciate that soothing warmth spreading around our bodies like a “Ready Brek” glow. One of its aims is to reduce the amount of plastic going into the ocean by encouraging the use of a steel bottle, so it is proudly 100pc BPA free. Glass-lined flasks are more dangerous because glass walls can also shatter To be safe, it's best to empty the contents after 24 hours. If you take your thermos flask to the local coffee shop and ask them to fill it up instead of having your drink served in a disposable coffee cup with plastic lid then you will be reducing the amount of landfill and waste material which gets produced from these establishments. Win win in our books! Why ‘Thermos’? How do Thermos flasks work? In short, they use a double walled construction, with the air removed from between these walls, forming a vacuum. Heat struggles to pass through the vacuum, meaning liquid stays at a roughly constant temperature.

If you want to carry your flask long distances, it’s a lightweight option – weighing 400g (14 ounces) with canteen cap, or 380g (13.4 ounces) with sports cap, while empty.Don't fully submerge the flask in water – doing this might allow water to get inside the insulation layers, affecting the quality of insulation You don't have permission to access "http://www.argos.co.uk/browse/sports-and-leisure/camping-and-caravanning/flasks/c:30512/brands:thermos/" on this server. A big part of the appeal of the Stanley is that it makes you feel like an intrepid camper, thanks to the distinctive green branding. With a lifetime warranty, the iconic flask will survive even the wildest of adventures: since it was founded in 1913, Stanley bottles have survived -70 degree winds, 4,000 foot drops, speeding bullets and category 5 hurricanes (please do not try this yourself). We've reviewed the best Thermos flasks, along with vacuum flasks from Chilly's, Stanley and Hydro Flask, and cheaper own-brand products from Wilko, Asda and Argos

The flask has a BPA-free cup with enough space for several decent-sized cups of teas. The cup also helps ensure the flask remains leak proof.

You can leave your house with a full bottle of coffee on Friday evening and can have a nice walk with a cup of hot coffee on your weekend destination even on Saturday evening! You will definitely get a duration of 24 hours, and this model performs equally well for hot and cold temperature contents. In Use My gripe with this particular genuine Thermos brand flask (watch out for fakes) is that it is plastic on the outside and glass inside. The cups are plastic, too, rather than stainless steel. But like the Stanley it is BPA-free, and it kept liquids hotter than the other Thermos flasks I tried, which were composed primarily of stainless steel. It weighs 890g, which is lightweight considering its vast capacity. Capacity: 750ml (25oz) / Temperature test: 0 hrs 90°c, 90 mins 85.2°c, 4 hrs 79.5°c, 6 hrs 75.3°c, 8 hrs 71.4°c, 24 hrs 48.4°c / Made from 18/8 stainless steel / Leak-proof / Insulated lid doubles as a cup / Dishwasher safe / Lifetime warranty.

In terms of tech, the Oneisall employs a copper-coated layer outside of the vacuum space which ensures that the flask keeps your drinks hot without any heat reaching the outer surface. The GSI MicroLite 1000 Twist Water Bottle is a vacuum insulated stainless steel flask that has a one litre capacity but impressively small size and density. It is extremely lightweight at 0.37kg which is less than half the weight of the Stanley 18-8 for the same capacity. Key attributes: Very light, design enables one-handed drinking, wide mouth for easy filling and cleaning.None of the flasks leaked from the main body – however, some flasks can't be filled to their stated capacity without liquid coming out when you screw on the lid. This is definitely one of the best thermos flasks for solo users due to the size of 21.8cm x 6.5cm and weight of only 0.33kg. This is light! Warranty: We always suggest buying a vacuum flask from a manufacturer who will offer a warranty of at least one year, and preferably more. A warranty acts as a safeguard for your flask against unexpected defects, and ensures that you won’t have to buy again if something goes wrong. If you’re planning on spending a wodge of cash on a flask, then go for the one with the warranty. Typical Heat Retention Times For a group hike, you need to keep lots of liquid on board for everybody to get a cup. If this is your plan then you should buy a thermos which can hold lots of liquid for the whole squad. It is definitely more space efficient to use one big flask for the group rather than several small, individual flasks. If you think about it, the majority of a flask is wasted space and not actually used for carrying liquid – it is there for the heat insulation. Better to just carry one big flask.
