Im not sure if this was from a blade or whether the head is developing a bit of rust (as the underside isn’t finished the same as the top side) Time will tell and I will report back on this. The item was sent “in my favour” (Ie marked as a gift with a low value on the customs lable) and as such didn’t attract any VAT or import duty. It’s a nice, cool gel which is easy to apply, is pretty thick and the razor glides through pretty easily. It gives a consistent shave, well made and if you are thinking of getting one I would defiantly recommend it.

The idea of lowering the environmental impact of razors is very responsible but we feel that it definitely could have been executed better. But later on and after having a closer read of the product description, I realised that they never actually talk about the heads of the razors in their descriptions. Our Original Bamboo Razor handle fits both our Original Steel Blades and our Sensitive Steel Blades. With a good blade (and so far Gillette Super Thins, Gillette Bleues and Feathers have all been excellent) – the razor “finds its own angle” I find too acute an angle and it drags, not enough and there is no blade contact – it seems to find its own angle. If you are to give out the used razors to a recycling center, make sure that you tape the blades first to prevent accidents.I like to think of myself as a fairly cunning linguist (hehe), but I tell you gentlemen, I am at a loss for words. I do not have enough experience at the moment to comment on its characteristics, what I can say having used it today for the first time it was as easy to use as the HD Merkur 34C. Just had another look at the head and I think the staining is coming from where the bar meets the thread. Fair enough, it's good that the packaging etc is from recycled/sustainable sources, but I think its a bit misleading when the biggest problem is the actual razor head that people have to dispose of on a regular basis.
