About this deal

Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds and Rubies, Avon's Rare Rubies, and Estee Lauder's Cinnabar are great for the Holiday Season around Christmas. I think this proves that we do not live in a society where a different opinion is tolerated, it's immediately attacked by the vigilantes who have a different take on it. I submit that flowers have no age, nor do fruits, spices, herbs, animalics, elements, chemicals, even seasons and locales. I hydrate my skin really well with an unscented product before spraying perfumes as it has become drier, and doing so really gives perfumes something to hold onto. Some people may find the powdery nuance headache inducing, however, or the sweet and almond cloying.

For me, the almond wood, rose, and spices are what I pick up on the most with slight notes of the Jasmine. My sister did not like it at all, in fact, she doesn't really go for powdery scents and told me she does not like any of Elizabeth Taylor's offerings. I really like diamonds and rubies, I agree with the reviewer comparing it with tresor, that is, mixing the original fragrance with tresor's peach notes and a bit of a powder note in it as well. Those then blend w/ that lush peach, spices, powdery heliotrope, other florals and that sweet vanilla to create soft, dark red velvet magic! Even if I didn't know this perfume was created by her, I would have recognised her unmistakable style.

The red rose aside, this is also a sweet peach perfume, almost like a Georgia peach, Southern, Scarlett O'Hara, a beautiful peach fruit that smells of the sweet fuzz and a bit boozy.I'm surprised how delitious slightly sour sweet peach with little bit of cinnamon developed on my skin after maybe 20 or 30 minutes. Fatima1219 I was just having some grim daydream along the lines of what you described, a little eerie to say the least! I eventually worked my way back to trying it again, and it was a complexly different fragrance to me this time. But after the 2nd or 3rd try I was suddenly able to detect all the sweet, creamy rose, peach, and heliotrope along with the powdery almond.

Instead of being stuffy and outdated, this scent delivers a delightful mix of tangy, floral, and powdery notes right off the bat. Wait before you judge this fragrance when first spraying on because my initial response was a no like until a few minutes went by and then it was wow I love it. Someone mentioned Tresor (which I also love) and I will throw in Spellbound as perfumes that this is similar to.This is now one of my top favorites, and a wonderful, romantic aura I like to surround myself in, especially for bedtime. The scent opens with top notes of Lilac, Peach and Rose, middle notes are Jasmine, Orchid and Spices.

The peach note is really noticeable in this at the beginning, and it smells ripe, juicy and so much like real peach. My last husband loved it on me so much he always asked me if I was going to wear that Ruby perfume again. I don’t need to add much to the descriptive reviews, I am just going to do a comparison to Nahema and Tentations. Weirdly when I asked for it the sales assistant had to get it from under the counter, as if it were some sort of illicit product. But of course, they are totally different in notes and scent, just the similar emotional response they raise in me.I’ve tried to mix it with Britney fantasy perfume and even that couldn’t hide the powderyness and bitterness of this perfume. I'm no good at individual notes, but the rose is up there, a big beautiful voluptuous rose with warmth underneath. This smells enough like Tresor that I was immediately transported in my mind back to high school when my mom wore it. This is definitely an acquired taste, Sofia is Sofia Grojsman for good reason, she is a fabulous perfume creator. I also get the Guerlain Nahema reference, but Diamonds and Rubies is closer to Hermès Rouge than anything else.
