About this deal

Morrison’s focus on personal growth and transformation through introspection allows for a deep exploration of characters, their relationships, and motivations. Maybe this book is for someone, but I couldn't say who that is. I'd skip it and read the aforementioned Woom if you want a gross out book that at least has some good characterization and writing. Hey Tim," I say to myself as I light a cigarette. "We're going to review 'Human-Shaped Fiends' by Chandler Morrison. We need to go meta." A thorough examination of the characters in this work reveals a remarkable level of complexity and depth unparalleled by many other works. This book has been praised for its powerful message and raw, honest writing style. With over 500 thousand copies sold worldwide, it is one of the most successful books published in 2020.

The central theme of Dead Inside is a powerful inner struggle that examines the complexity of mental health. It delves into the topics of self-realization, understanding and accepting one’s own identity, and how to cope with personal struggles.

His most celebrated book, Dead Inside, has been lauded by critics as a masterpiece of literature – but he also has other works that are equally worthy of attention. With lush language and vivid imagery, readers find themselves engrossed in stories that explore a variety of themes with an unparalleled level of hypebole.

People rarely attempt to engage me. Maybe it’s because everyone is busy, but it’s probably because of my general demeanor, which in the past and present has been described as unapproachable and creepy. Even the janitor, a pleasant and friendly old war veteran who seems to be well-liked by all, usually avoids me as one would avoid a nest of wasps. One that appears to be vacant but could possibly erupt into a violent swarm of insects at any moment. Human-Shaped Fiends is the 11th in Death's Head Press's Splatter Western series (all stand alone novels, so fear not if you want to start here or with any of the others) and it proves beyond a doubt how many more directions they can take this series. These books have been consistently entertaining since the first, and while I have not read all eleven, I've read a decent amount and there have only been one misfire for me, so I think that says a lot about the consistency of these books. Now, personally the first one ( The Magpie Coffin) was the best of the books and has been a tough act to follow up. While I've enjoyed pretty much everything, nothing has really competed with that first one… until now. This one is easily my favorite of the lineup that I've read. I'd also say it's the most clever.Listen, I say, looking at my watch, a purely-for-show gesture since I already know what time it is, alwaysknow what time it is. I have to get to work. You should probably go.

It offers diverse perspectives on the main theme of liberation from societal conventions, allowing readers to explore their own subconscious desires for freedom. Phew, I’m sitting here thinking to myself….how the hell am I going to review this? But that’s kind of what Chandler Morrison does to you. The first time this happened was with 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲. James Barton is Sheriff in crime-ridden Los Angeles. Incidents of violence are escalating and the Sheriff has little, if any control over the population as his various addictions, the result of a troubled past and an unrequited love with a local prostitute, render him both unwilling and unable to take action. This book will stay with readers long after they finish it; a true testament to its power and influence in providing comfort in times of darkness.this book actually reminded me a little bit of the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay in that way (POV from a sociopath & the morbid humour). the obvious differences between Dexter, and the main character here though are that Dexter was actually quite likeable overall, and someone you kinda root for regardless of him being a murderer (while the mc in this book was clearly just a horrible person) and Dexter obviously wasn’t a necrophiliac. It’s a writer at the top of his game having fun at the audience’s expense and I love him for it! It’s like the AC/DC Whether they read Dead Inside or one of his other works, readers can expect to experience an emotionally-gripping journey filled with unexpected twists and moments of profound insight. Does the book contain any religious themes? Now, before I begin, I have to let you all know about the numerous kinds of trigger warnings in this book because it’s bad. Really… really bad. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review with 12 trigger warnings so I figure it would be easiest to make a list of them all… Every trigger-warning is employed here. I won't include a list of them because (spoilers) but also because I can just say that if you think of a trigger, it's present in this book. ALL OF THEM.

Helen, on the other hand, likes to eat dead babies and as an obstetrician at the maternity ward she is right at the source to her object of desire. In contrast to MC she actually longs to be “normal” but at the same time she is much more able to share her darkness with someone else. She’s a true romantic at heart who yearns for someone to understand her, with the only problem being MC not really wanting that kind of intimacy, let alone with someone who lives. Another Splatter Western from Deaths Head Press completed, and I have to say...this one was definitely a strange one...strangest one I've read so far. What makes this addition to the Splatter Western series so unique, you might ask? Author Chandler Morrison has written himself into his own book and the outcome is pretty fantastic (Hurray for Meta-fiction)! All of that said, something about the detached and repetitive nature of the narrative voice made even the most disgusting and graphic scene in this book fall short of actually affecting me. I thought based on the hype that this would be the rare book that would be “too much”, but honestly, I frequently found myself bored and wishing for the story to end. If I ever get "The Clap" you best believe I am gonna be trying to smell that shit. I hope I never do but weirder thing have happened.Interludes are peppered throughout of the “real Chandler” going through the motions of his vapid existence. We have our hero struggling to try and surpass what he feels he has become, the Dead Inside guy. Through its exploration of the human experience and emotions, Dead Inside provides readers with an insight into how individuals cope with pain and suffering when life throws unexpected situations their way. It’s ten thirty at night. If you want me out, you could at least come up with a better excuse than that." As with his other books, ALONG THE PATH TO TORMENT and DEAD INSIDE, Morrison’s writing style hits home for me - it feels like a warm cozy blanket that massages your body…no matter how depraved the words or subject matter is. The book’s narrative style is analytical and insightful but also engaging, making it accessible to a wide range of readers regardless of their enjoyment level. Are there any other books by Chandler Morrison?
