The Fat Controller sets out on a mission to find him and literally every single scene where he appears in is literal torture and by the end of the movie, Thomas is somewhat treated as a hero and poor Sir Topham Hatt is left abandoned at sea. I love that his two spotlight episodes this season are about him trying to do stuff for his wife and grandchildren, away from the railway, only for things to go wrong and for them to depend on the railway.
