The 1st is with the pacing in some areas. The dragging of certain scenes; while not expanding more on the FMC's family history, was disappointing. I'm not sure if I missed discussions or if the info was so briefly discussed that it got lost in everything else going on (esp. when this story is mainly from the FMC's/Aria's POV). Ashes of Chaos is the second installment in the Legacy of the Nine Realms series. Aria began a battle against Knox and the witches in the previous novel. These are the times when it was hard for her to have a smile on her face during the war. Aria’s plans are all coming apart and with everything on the line, how far will Aria go to protect those she loves from Knox’s anger? When everyone is pushing her to become the villain they claim her to be, will she be able to become the monster the realms need?

Flame of Chaos is the debut novel in the Legacy of the Nine Realms series. Aria is not any ordinary witch; she comes from a ruling family of witches and is a descendant of Hecate. Her family gave their kingdoms to others and relocated to another world. I’m annoyed with the ending, not because it is a cliffhanger, but because the major choices the male illogically makes. Aria and her sisters return to the Human Realm of Haven Falls to find one of their own that’s gone missing. They soon discover things have changed in the Human Realm and that nothing is what it seems, including Knox, the egotistical, self-centered, frustratingly gorgeous man who declared himself King during their absence.

Characters make choices that are totally illogical (without a spoiler, example, they have a conversation near the end of the book that should’ve completely changed his thoughts about her family, but instead reinforces his opinions). When Knox calls her, Arian knows that he has an agenda. Knox declared himself a king in their absence, and now she can’t trust him anymore. Knox feels connected to Aria, but unfortunately, she doesn’t fit his revenge plans. How far will Aria go to protect those she loves from Knox's wrath? How long can she evade the man stalking her every waking hour as her body and mind fight against the growing need for him to claim her? Can she break the curse that has plagued the Hecate bloodline for over 500 years while protecting her heart? Aria knows Knox is a force that should be fought, and even though she doesn’t know her role in the world, she knows she has to remain strong because Knox isn’t what he seems to be. Knox has an underlying motive for coming to Haven Falls and never thought Aria would show up to challenge his ruling.

The Legacy of the Nine Realms series begins with Ashes of Chaos. The story begins after the events of the first book as Aria is looking to create a new House of Magic. She knew about the mess that her family had left, but nothing could’ve prepared her for what awaited her in the Nine Realms. Aria wants to protect those she loves, but how far will she go? Upon reaching Svartalfheim in The Quest for Tyr, you have the option to explore the Bay of Bounty, where you may stumble upon a mini-boss Draugr called The Hateful. One taste, and he thought he could get her out of his system. He was wrong. Right now I’m wondering can I wait for the audio releases of the next 2 books? I may try as like I said, that version was superb! One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened too. Good narration is key even when the story is beyond epic.

He knows that she’s his enemy, but something in her calls him, igniting his cold heart. He was wrong to think that he would take her out so easily. Though it was not successful in replacing the First Flame, it functions similarly to it, as Demons can become powerful enough to "link" it and rekindle it when it dies out. [4] The chosen one for this task was the Demon Prince, whose will is within all Demonkind, but his defeat at the hands of Prince Lorian of Lothric, and later the Ashen One, left the demon race without a champion, rendering them extinct.Be warned, the 2 mains are not all lovable. You'll experience moments of hating, being annoyed by, sympathizing, & eventually caring for both of them. Yet the storyline works & I truly enjoyed it. I'm immediately starting the next book! Can Knox let go of the past and his drive for revenge that will destroy the witch he lusts for, or will he push hard and go on with his revenge plans?

Knox has ulterior motives for being in Haven Falls and never expected the little witch to show up and brazenly challenge his rule. Sorry for talking about those books as this is a completely separate series, I genuinely just love Amelias style of characters.
