About this deal

The PRVKE allowed me to carry more equipment than I usually could with my LowePro 450 AW II, in part thanks to thin and carefully considered dividers. Our ultimate destination, the Titcomb Basin, would prove to be a great trial grounds in addition to being just stunningly beautiful. I would probably not bother adding a waist strap to the three smaller sizes of this bag, but I would definitely consider it on the PRVKE 41 if I was really loading it up with camera gear. With a 40+ litre bag, you can definitely reach a weight where it would be helpful to spread some of that load directly to your hips. Sternum strap details.

A common question regarding the PRVKE is whether to choose the 21 or the 31. Despite there now being two additional sizes in the lineup, I still expect the 21 and 31 to be the most popular. Looking at the dimensions from the specification section, you can see that the PRVKE 31 is larger in every way, but never by a huge amount. One important dimension, though, is depth. Although the removable Camera Cube was designed with a mirrorless system in mind (a body, plus a large and medium sized lens) the molded dividers make it possible to carry a full frame DSLR with lenses as well. I was able to fit a 5D Mark IV body, a 70-200mm F2.8 lens and a 24-70 F2.8 lens in the cube without any issues.

All of the gear that we managed to fit in the PRVKE 31. Not pictured is our tapestry and primary camera body, which we used to take this photo. When choosing the PRVKE that is right for you, all you need to do is analyze what it is you want to carry. Then match that with the recommendations above. If it looks like the PRVKE Lite is the right one for you, do not worry that you are getting some sort of low-end, bottom-of-the-rung version of the PRVKE. This is absolutely not the case. The PRVKE Lite is simply the smallest PRVKE. It looks, feels and acts just like its bigger siblings. PRVKE 21 Vs. 31 Value for money is always a tough one to gauge since it’s highly subjective. How much do you value how something looks, vs how it functions, for example.

The foam seems dense enough to keep my gear safe yet still feels lightweight enough with a fully loaded bag. The overall design of the PRVKE 31 is very efficient. Functionality is tip-top and the materials used are both practical and good looking. There little if any parts to this bag that feel superfluous or unnecessary. Designed for the outdoors, this bag feels really well-engineered in terms of comfort, something which other manufacturers overlook for the sake of fitting in every piece of camera kit possible.

There is, however, a handy integrated camera sling that keeps your camera hanging right next to your hip, although it’s mostly for smaller cameras. I’ve now had a chance to test three of the four sizes of the Wandrd PRVKE — the Lite, the 41L and the 31L. While they all share similar features, there are a few key differences to note. The 41L is designed to fit larger gear, while if you want to fit more gear but use a smaller mirrorless body, the 31L with the Pro+ cube may be the better option.
