The art is attractive and suitably historical on the majors and the court cards, but the suits are relatively plain, undecorated cards with pips instead of illustrated scenes. D. Kat deliberately chose to conform to the card styles introduced by the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith deck, but her own version offers a genteel, softer and much more personable version, in my humble opinion.

The cards are standard sized with an old-fashioned brown textured pattern for the reversible card back. I too suspected that the delays were at least partly because it’s being made in China rather than their usual arrangement with (some of the world’s best) printers in Belgium. Intentional or not, it doesn’t look good and I’m guessing will look even worse with use as the black pentagram outline actually wear off. This deck is an absolute home run, and I recommend it without reservation to any Tarot reader or collector. Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive.
