About this deal

Thomas is a blue tank engine who works at a big station called Knapford on an island called Sodor. His job is to fetch coaches for the other engines and then take them away the engines are done pulling them and when the passengers get out. Thomas thinks he works the hardest and is often very cheeky to the bigger engines, especially a big and proud engine named Gordon who pulls the Express. Thomas likes to startle him rudely by teasing him with his loud whistle.

Gordon's express coaches were the first Bachmann Thomas products to be reintroduced following their discontinuation. In addition, these coaches were also given a yellow stripe to match their CGI counterparts.

When the N scale Thomas and Percy models were first revealed, their faces had been switched around and had swapped eyebrows. Several maps show the main line terminating at the junction, though some books mention that the terminus is Tidmouth. Furthermore, Knapford appears to be larger than Tidmouth, whereas the Rev. W. Awdry stated in The Island of Sodor: Its People, History and Railways that it is smaller than Tidmouth. The town's growth as a port and industrial centre has been phenomenal and it rapidly became the Island's commercial capital. However, it still retains many marks of its uncouth origins and is not attractive to tourists. Nevertheless, those ramblers who are bold and dedicated enough to scramble up the steep path beside the Falls of Tid will be rewarded in the valley beyond, which is a place of awesome splendour. Mention of the Falls is a further reminder of Messrs A. W. Dry's enterprise. In 1906, by harnessing the Falls of Tid, Tidmouth became the first town in Sodor to be lit by electricity. Tidmouth received a Royal Charter to become a Borough in 1918. The model that would later be used for Elizabeth II in the fourth series can be seen in this episode. Part of his boiler is raised due to the middle section not being reassembled properly before shooting.

This was the first item to have the 2009 Learning Curve logo, although it was released in late 2008. Music cues from this episode were used in some audiobooks of Thomas & Friends, which were only released in Germany. For centuries the area below Elsbridge had been flooded both at high tide and when the river was in spate. At other times it looked innocent enough to tempt unwary invaders to choose this route inland. All without exception found themselves engulfed in bog.Thomas is a tank engine who lives at the big station on the Island of Sodor. He's a cheeky little engine with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome.” ― The narrator's first lines in the main series The human figures were originally marketed as HO scale but have been relabelled large scale since the introduction of said range due to being too large. There was a discussion in 2009 about someone who exhibited their Thomas layout at an exhibition. They were not allowed to call it Thomas or use any names from the stories to name their layout. HIT Entertainment are notoriously litigious. There’s a lot of work for Thomas/Sir Handel/Gordon/Peter Sam/James/Percy/Duncan/Stepney/Diesel/Rosie to do today! The most iconic shot of all Thomas and Friends is this: the opening windmill credits. It's hard not to look at this route and hum the theme song. This is a one baseboard diorama with enough vegetation to fill a small gardening store. Included is a snowy version of the route.
