About this deal

Rather than just hanging down once your tot is taken out of the seat, they stay in position as though they are still round your child’s shoulders, which makes getting him back in again so simple – no battles to prevent him sitting on the straps.

I do not want the seat repaired and given back to me, as I would not use it again and I would not want to pass it on to anyone else to use on a toddler in case the same thing happens to them. Ever since Georgie moved out of her stage 1 car seat, we’ve struggled to find a seat that works for her and the car. There didn’t seem to be any solution to stopping her head rolling forward and despite it looking very uncomfortable, it of course wasn’t very safe either. From the extra high position in the Maxi-Cosi Tobi, toddlers have a great view of what is happening inside and outside the car.

That is why they want you to enjoy their products for as long as possible, without worrying about something going wrong. It was simple instructions easy to put in the car to and from as we change cars (my partners-mine) We needed something easy to change over this works.

We were very happy with it until we were getting ready to go out on a long journey and the straps on the seat failed.

I contacted Maxi Cosi who said not to use the seat due to the broken housing and that I needed to send it back to the retailer for repair. It's easy to adjust the straps and there's an indicator at the base that goes green to show when your toddler's strapped in tight enough. The (diagonal) shoulder part of the seat belt should be correctly attached and run through the two belt openings along the red markers on the back of the Maxi-Cosi Tobi. If a box looks damaged in any way, shape or form it should be signed for as ‘box damaged’ and any damage/missing parts must be reported to us in writing or by e-mail within a reasonable period of time (ideally within 24 hours). All in all, it’s just the kind of car seat that we were looking for to be used up until Georgie is aged 4, so we still have a fair bit of use out of it yet.It also isn’t ISOFIX compatible, so it’s important that you carefully follow the instructions when you fit it in your car.

All transactions are securely processed through either Paypal or Sage Pay depending on your choice of payment. There is also plenty of room for growth in this well-padded seat, but unlike some it’s snug and comfy-looking for smaller babies who have outgrown their first seats. The Maxi-Cosi Tobi Group 1 Car Seat is a forward-facing car seat that is suitable for your child from 9 to 18 kg (approximately 9 months until 4 years of age).

Additionally, the belt height adjustment feature ensures that the seat's belts are always at the correct height for the child's safety. I had the Tobi for my son and have never had a problem with it and will be purchasing it again for my new baby when they reach that stage. However after a couple of months of use my daughter started taking her arms out of the straps this happened mid motorway so obviously dangerous. Not only that, but the straps have jammed on tight, so I take the seat out of the car to investigate only to find that the plastic housing around the belt tensioner under the soft-cap has broken and the strap is caught up in it. Got his when my little boy was small as he did not like his other car seat and this was perfect, he was able to look out of the car window.
