Battery life is always best given as a range considering how much usage can differ and impact the battery, but the fact that when I went easy on it I could actually hit the quoted nine-hour battery life is a good sign. Of course I regularly have a dozen or more tabs open at any given time on my laptops and to that end usually land closer to the seven hour mark, but I'm completely okay with that. After powering up the Acer C720, you're prompted to sign into your Google account. Once signed in, you're met with a very clean desktop with icons at the lower side corners of the screen. On the right side you'll find a bar with the time, Wi-Fi and battery life indicators, and your user icon where you can change your settings and turn off the Chromebook.Another great thing about the Peace Lily is that it likes being root-bound, so repotting is only necessary every few years. The only possible negative is that the Peace Lily is not pet-friendly: if chewed and swallowed, it can cause serious problems for your furry friend. Though the rating has received a small bump, I actually found the improvement to be much larger. Using the C720 for some time I regularly got five to six hours of battery life (versus the eight and a half quoted), while on the C740 I regularly got seven to nine hours of life. There’s an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 under the hood with 8GB or 16GB of RAM. That means there’s more than enough power for basically anything you can throw at the Pixelbook, and it’s going to be noticeably faster than the Acer C720, too. The keyboard is also the crown jewel not just of Chromebooks, but of most laptops in general. Plus, updates won’t cease on the Pixelbook until June 2024.

Neverware’s compatibility list does not include any Chromebooks, that I can see. However, you can get it to run by opening the case, removing the Chromebook’s “write protect” screw and flashing the firmware. The Acer Chromebook C720 held its own when it came to benchmark tests as well.
