About this deal

This is a great, inexpensive pedal that serves a very useful purpose, especially if you're playing slap bass. As the Threshold was reduced from 7 to 0 the volume correspondingly decreased with a substantial reduction with a Threshold set at nil. This dedicated Enhance control lets you dial in just the right amount of sparkle, without giving your bass that over-processed or brittle sound. both are wonderful, but the limiter enhancer feels more like a polishing tool compared to the compression sustainer being a grinding tool.

The dials on the Behringer are exactly the same as the Boss LMB-3 on which it is based (and which I am looking forward to putting through its paces, when it arrives later this week) with Threshold going "min to max" clockwise; and the similarly on the Keeley they go from -60 to +10 (i. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Most compressors are also "sustainers" too, meaning they bring up quieter notes (and also the 'noise floor' of the instrument or other electronics). I have heard very good things about Behringer products over the years regarding amps and rack-mount processors and such, but I have never owned anything till now. revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. I set my LMB-3 at everything on 12 o clock, maybe the level at 1 o clock if the guitarist and drummer get a bit cheeky on the volume, the difference with it off or on in a band mix is so subtle as to be not really necessary IMO but it does smooth out my spikes in volume but still allows me to play quietly during those moments its necessary. This is a 2nd hand item and may not come with all originally included items and original accessories or software. e. it wasn't as good as the dedicated budget Behringer - I guess that is to be expected given the maximum compression ration of 9:1.

In addition there was a bit of distortion/dirt/noise introduced into the signal at maximum compression which was unwelcome. The take away from that for me (and I hope I have drawn the correct conclusion from this, although I’ll readily admit to still being a novice in my grasp of the technicalities of Limiters) is that the Keeley has a LOT more headroom in its ability to deal with signal spikes than the very much cheaper Behringer and this is a case in point where quality (easily) won the day. The Keeley doesn’t, however, have an “enhance” dial, so the Keeley has entirely avoided the issue of associated “enhance” tweeter hiss! By its very nature, extreme compression tends to suck the high-end out of any signal, so we added a tone compensation circuit to the BLE100.

At "min" (or -60 in the case of the Keeley) the compression will kick in at very low input volumes => overall the pedal is providing the maximum limiting it can. With this easy to use pedal placed in front of the sansamp, all notes up and down the neck on all 4 strings now do not get buried in my mixes. With the Behringer Bass Limiter Enhancer BLE400 dynamics effects pedal you can add the same velvety finishing touch to your bass guitar performances, both onstage and in the studio. The dedicated Level, Enhance, Ratio and Threshold controls provide easy and intuitive sound shaping. The limiter pedal features level, enhance, ratio and threshold controls to give users an easy and simple way of sculpting their desired sounds. I can only gather they used this name because there is a similar product with this name on the market.
