About this deal

Tide of Escalation– Brotherhood Psychic Powers can be used multiple times per phase –with Warp Charge cost increasing by one for each successive attempt. Finally, we have another jaw-dropping example of Castellan Crowe – this one’s loaded with holy script,*** and even has magnetised heads so that he can easily switch between helmeted and bare-headed options without having to go through the full armouring ritual . A Daemon Sword ancient beyond imagining, the blade first came to the attention of the Grey Knights during the latter years of the 37th Millennium, during the mad days of the Occlusiad. Here at Warhammer Community we’ll be covering a crop of truly magnificent reveals from AdeptiCon, starting with the latest Warhammer Preview Online. The festivities start in the early morning for UK and European fans – here’s when you have to wake up (it’ll be worth it). We’ll also be streaming the best bits from the tournament. Warden of the Blade, written by veteran writer David Annandale is a compelling Grey Knights tale about the legendary Warrior, Castellan, as he takes up a cursed demon blade which he must now bear and keep from falling into the wrong hands. The thing is, this blade can talk and its not exactly the nicest conversationalist with it being a demon blade and all, to give you a bit of an idea; many of its compelling conversation tend go a little something like...

She knew, without being told, that witnessing these beings was a privilege, a rare opportunity, and one that would come with a great cost.” Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group, or our new Discord server, and make sure you enter the latest monthly giveaway for FREE today! But let’s look at we’ve got. It’s a very shooty list with melee capabilities – so these guys will hold their own at range and in close quarters. Terminators, being Terminators, are tough with 5+ invulnerable saves and choice of differing melee weapons and guns – which the Strike Squad and the other variants also get to dabble with. Crowe never heeds the daemon's advice, knowing that truth from such a creature can carry an even higher cost than lies. However, the castellan will take the recorded ramblings of the blade to the Prognosticars that they might be able to glean useful knowledge from them.

How Big is Crowe Going to be?

Unfortunately, this set comes out at the lower end of savings in the Boarding Patrol range – but 30% off is still 30% off. Boarding Patrol: Grey Knights – Contents Purgators– dedicated heavy weapons troops for dealing ranged damage with Psycannons, Psilencers, and Incinerators. In battle, Purifiers can turn their purity into a weapon, channelling it with their psychic talents to create an ethereal fire which can literally burn away the souls of their foes and reduce a fully-manifested Daemon to nothing but a memory in a few moments of blazing light and inhuman screams. The Grey Knights Strike Squad can be built as an Interceptor Squad, a Purifier Squad or a Purgation Squad – though the latter is apparently illegal in Boarding Actions, according to GW themselves.

The sword was so named as it was unearthed by the apostles of the Blind King in the ruins of the temple of Antwyr, a cursed place dedicated to a savage and heretical god. With the power to grant the wielder control of all who gazed upon him, the blade's bearer led legions of Heretics and madmen across the Vidar, Tremayne and Darkspire sectors. Like all his battle-brothers, Castellan Garran Crowe is himself a weapon of exceptional purity, which the Imperium of Man wields in the most desperate circumstances, and whose first and foremost means of war is the strength of his faith. The Warden’s narrative is built around the ages-old themes of fate and duty, since Crowe’s destiny is constant vigilance over an artefact imbued with daemonic properties. Over a deadly enemy that shall always remain at his side while the Astartes does endless battle with other, no less lethal foes – and while its sly, infernal voice keeps trying to lure the Castellan into wielding it, promising him untold glory and power. Shall Garran’s transhuman will prove strong enough to resist these foul temptations? Looks like only time would tell…So it was that the Blade of Antwyr was placed in the hands of the Purifiers, as only they possessed the spiritual strength to resist corruption and ignore the malign whispers of the daemon trapped within. The Castellan spends his time away from war ceaselessly training, the vicious curses of the daemon always in his mind. For years he has suffered Antwyr's insults in silence, his scorn a shield against the furious rantings of the dead god. The chapter, its mission, and its methods were conceived of by the Emperor and Malcador the Sigillite –his closest human confidant, and a powerful psyker–during the closing stages of the Horus Heresy. The Blade of Antwyr is such an object, a scar upon the face of reality. Such is the power of this cursed blade that wherever Crowe carries it the taint of the Warp stains his surroundings. On Titan the champion must keep to the Chambers of Purity, often in isolation. Comparable to a Space Marine Dreadnought in terms of size, design, and battlefield role, the Dreadknight is a massive, mechanised walker that uses mighty, upsized versions of the Grey Knights’ heavy guns and melee weapons, able to dish out enough damageto takeout an Imperial Knight.

Of course, the box also contains two balanced armies of psychic behemoths – the Daemon-hunting Grey Knights, and the masters of Tzeentch’s magical legacy, the Thousand Sons. Ok, so with 16 miniatures, we have almost reached the 500 point threshold required for Boarding Actions, with only 40 points to spare, and no upgrades to pad out those points other than giving everyone a Nemesis daemon hammer. Unless you add in individual Grey Knights (which cost around 20 points each), you won’t likely be able to reach that fortune 500 with other Grey Knights stuff. The 666th chapter’s most elite heavy infantry, Grey Knights Paladins are made up of the most senior, battle-hardened veterans in each Brotherhood. Their highly decorated Terminator plate bears heraldry, honours, and keepsakes of their great feats and glories – for each one of them has slain a greater daemon (or more).Looks like the new Castellan Crowe 40k miniature is indeed a Primaris size, so what does that mean for the rest of the Grey Knights?
