About this deal

This upgraded package includes an extra cable (coiled) along with an alternate set of ear pads and a storage pouch. Ideal monitoring headphones for cameramen and DJs, these are a pair of true sound professional working headphones. For those that prefer to use their headphones as a statement piece in their DJ gear, you may be a bit disappointed. I actually listened to some music on the hd25s with a critical ear and was surprised at the frequency response. In terms of headphone specs, it’s hard to argue with the Sennheiser HD 25’s design, even several years after the cans were first released.

The headphones are the retreat for the DJ to calmly select the pitch and starting point for the next transition. The resulting isolation from external noise and respectable spill performance thereby make the HD 25’s excellent candidates for the recording booth. Whilst some might maintain that the supra-aural design compromises long-term comfort, we didn’t find them particularly uncomfortable for long periods, although they may take a bit of getting used to if you’re used to more conventional, circumaural designs. If you’re only listening to sound in one headphone, there’s some risk that you’re going to miss out on some of the depth and quality you can get from these headphones. Like the 7506's highs are not punishing if the source material was recorded well BUT if your source is drenched in skull splitting highs it will reveal that.If the bottom is rolled off on like in in say country music and 70's pop, you hear just that, no exaggeration in the low end. But when you deliver such a quality sonic experience, the accessories or lack thereof hardly seem to matter. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the MD 441 microphone classic, hugely enhanced the company’s international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world. The next thing to do is to check and make sure that there is no debris (ie: no dust or lint) in the headphone jack of the audio source that may be inhibiting connectivity and causing sound issues. For those who upgrade to the 25 Plus, there’s the option to access extra cables, ear pads, and a bonus carry pouch.

If you’re not ready to remove the headphone can entirely, it’s easy enough to flip the headphone can out of the way on one side so you can check in with a co-worker or another DJ in your booth. The HD 25 Aluminum's first victory is its audio performance, but a close second is the simplicity of its design.
As always, the capsules can be rotated and the split headband ensures a perfect fit, not matter how hard you find yourself nodding your head while in the mix. I don't think they designed these strictly for DJ work but it seems that's what they were designed for. Secondly, the coiled cable is quite heavy and you can feel the weight pulling on the side of the head. Once again, although the comfort of the Sennheiser HD25 headset isn’t ideal in general, you’re likely to face additional discomfort when messing with the cans.
