It is a self-priming paint (but will need sealing with our wax / finishing coat) which is rich and creamy, always giving superior coverage. It can also be applied on terracotta, brick and stone, bringing out beautiful rich colour into the garden. Cuprinol Garden Shades has been specially developed to colour and protect sheds, fences and other garden wood. It is free-flowing to enable a smooth finish that gets into all the gaps and allows the profile of the wood to be a maintained. It is a smooth, creamy, odourless paint that is self-priming, self-levelling (therefore little to no brush marks) and self-sealing with excellent coverage. There is another leading brand on the market which is absolutely rubbish ,I have used twice, never again colour lifted within know time,awful paint so I will always stick with Cuprinol great colours as well. Beautiful matt colour which enhances the grain of natural wood, with 6 year weather protection on wood. As Garden Shades often goes on directly to the wood, without a primer, sometimes it will soak deep into the wood and this can create the need for a third coat. If using more than one can it is advisable to mix them together in a container or finish in a corner before starting a new can.

Apply in dry conditions, above 5 degrees Celsius and when bad weather is not forecast, minimum of 2 coats required.
