Shape-wise, it feels like little has changed since the last release - they are still comfortably snug around the mid-foot, with a comfortably sized toe-box. The fit is secure from the heel to the mid foot and the toe box sizes in a touch narrower than I usually prefer. As previously mentioned, the Asics GT-2000 8 is very similar, and if you're willing to forego some design improvements of the newer shoe, you can pick up a pair for considerably less. Acting as a lightweight second skin the mesh ensures you are able to go the distance in complete comfort.

The softer mesh upper provides for plenty of ventilation, especially in the heat of the day during those longer runs. The midsole often incorporates ASICS' signature cushioning technology, such as GEL, for shock absorption and a smooth ride. We tested the GT-2000 9 back-to-back with the GT-2000 8, and found them to be of roughly equal stiffness. The upper features a lightweight engineered mesh that allows better air circulation to keep your skin feeling dry and refreshed.The Gore Tex upper is rendered in gunmetal gray while the sole and interior sport a flame red coloring. Provided you get along with its stiff midsole, it's a dependable, tough road shoe that'll handle months of long training runs with aplomb. The last thing a runner wants is for the shoe to feel like it is weighing them down, and the GT 2000 9 not only refrains from such a feeling but rather provides a bit of an extra bounce in the step!

As well as this, a lateral full ground contact on the outsole supplies even more cushioning and durability so you can continue with complete confidence. The latest addition to Asics' line of mid-range stability shoes, the GT-2000 9 builds on its predecessor with just a few thoughtful design tweaks, like a softer, more breathable upper and more comfortable ankle cushioning.First thing you notice when you put these on is that the upper mesh material makes a bit of plastic wrinkle noise when you first walk in them. Lastly, the GUIDANCE TRUSSTIC™ design and DYNAMIC DUOMAX™ support system are key technologies that improve stability and provide a more efficient toe-off. Asics also decided to keep their Guidance Line design philosophy which carves a channel under the foot and helps to move the shoe through foot strike in a more natural manner.

If you're looking for a lightweight, cushioned running shoe that's functional for going the distance in wet conditions, the GT-2000™ 9 G-TX (GORE-TEX™) model is an outstanding choice. Suffice it to say, the GT 2000 9 is ready for just about anywhere you are asking your feet to take you. Place your right foot (or your stronger, longer foot) diagonally, so that it fits completely within the sheet of paper. Dynamic Duomax is located on the medial aspect of the shoe and begins near the heel and travels just past the arch. I was even able to get these shoes on some moderate trails, and they seem to handle the dirt, gravel, and mud just fine!The Asics GT-2000 9 is the latest addition to the company’s line of mid-tier stability road running shoes.
