About this deal
Last year, when my only daughter went off to college, the chapters where Brightbill leaves on his first migration and the reunion of Roz and Brightbill afterward and on Hilltop Farm were read with a choked voice through tears.
I thought I would try to challenge him a bit more than those books while he had some online learning. I am very excited to use your books and to share your journey of writing to help motivate my students.
As the crates drifted closer, the soft green shapes slowly sharpened into the hard edges of a wild, rocky island. But as the hurricane thrashed and swirled and knocked them around, the crates also began sinking into the depths. They will use this information to draw a labelled diagram of Roz and Brightbill’s new house, making sure they include the features mentioned. This is a 15-session Literary Leaf for The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, covering all aspects of the Key Stage 2 content domain. I would like to know if there will be a third book on the Wild Robot and how the movie is doing and how it will be.
I was really intrigued by the image of a robot in a tree, and a question suddenly popped into my mind: What would an intelligent robot do in the wilderness? Authors and filmmakers and playwrights almost always have to choose a pronoun (he, she, it) for each character, and by doing so they’re committing to a gender, or lack thereof, for each character. Students can compare how different animals helped Roz by detailing which animals made the most impact on saving Roz’s life. With some possibly disturbing scenes with guns, dismemberment of robots, and death in the wild, the story's also filled with lessons about kindness and pluck.
She also adopts an orphan gosling and builds a shelter to save her animal friends from a cruel winter. My teacher finished reading the book to us and we were all whining about reading the wild robot escapes.
