About this deal

I got my Mini a couple of weeks ago, and it came with a centre-exit exhaust fitted (afraid I've no idea what sort). The imperial size may have been true at one point but many motor factors now supply these with a metric thread and nuts to suit (certainly Halfords does). I checked this before assembling as I wanted to ensure that over the likely range of movement in use the load would be borne by the rubber and not by the bolt "locking" in the holes, which would have imparted large bending loads. A belted hanger for a Ford 3/4 ton pickup truck was cut to length and used at the front of the rear subframe. First thing that bothers me is the one mounting - the rubber is cracked and perished, and isn't supporting the weight properly, so the whole thing hangs squint. Will usually dispatch within same working day if paid before 13:00 GMT (excludes weekends and holidays). The very rear bobbin type mounting rubber on every mini made until the introduction of a rubber hanger strap in 1992.Yep as every body has said the very rear should have 2 of those rubber bobbins at the rear with preferably a metal bar bewteen the two that they hang from this metal bar then just screws directly to the subframe! Arrived in Eureka, MT with exhaust out of the Mini's sun roof and sounding like a biker gang on the prowl. Think I've replaced one in 15yrs since build - lots of use in all weather, and lives outside most of the time. As suggested by 7 Wonders an Aerolock nut or even two nuts locked against each other may be an alternative solution.

At the engine end, there's a squiggly section of pipe to take it round the gear linkage box thing, but instead of running along the exhaust channel in the chassis, it kind of hangs underneath it, which is no good. i got the arches from huddersfield spares, they recommended them to go with my 6x12 revs and the rubber strip came with them. you're not imagining it, there is a rubber lip between the arch and the bodywork, it is like a U and pushed onto the arch and stayed there on it's own. I must admit I don't see the advantage of a poly bush isolator for something like an exhaust, though. If I can, I'd like to source the parts myself, then take it to a specialist and get it fitted, but to do that I need to know exactly how it needs sorted and what bits to get.

This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. I think this is just a box which has been modded to fix the exhaust system Not sure if you can fix it without making new exhaust mounts. i think you could get an rc40 fitting kit to do the job you want it too, you may have to drill some holes in the centre of the frame to mount the bobbins and the hanging plate - nothign too serious. If so, where did you get the rubber seal that's sandwiched between the arch and the body, and did it have to go on at the same time as the arch?I will be keeping an eye on it and if it does show any sign of movement I'll do something about it - maybe using a 5mm longer bolt and a lock nut under the nyloc to allow me to tighten it positively. The idea being to replace the rubber bobbin with a set of rubber bushes above, below and between with a solid M8 8.
