About this deal

I don't want to discourage anyone from reading it by rating it on the lower side since this isn't a bad book. Patrick reassures Stephanie that the death of his first wife Lindsey by carbon monoxide poisoning was a tragic accident, and the two decide they’re not paying Erica a penny.

She begins a relationship with his business partner Niall, and suggests that he is the father of a child she gave away years earlier. All Patrick has to do is tap into that huge inheritance that Stephanie has just received and Erica won’t tell the police in Colorado that ten years ago he murdered his first wife. Set in upstate New York, it tells the story of Stephanie and Patrick, who are settling into life with their colicky twin baby girls.

Shari Lapena is the internationally bestselling author of the thrillers The Couple Next Door, A Stranger in the House, An Unwanted Guest, Someone We Know, The End of Her, Not a Happy Family and Everyone Here is Lying which have all been Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers. But, this book is still a page turner and does a good job of keeping the reader in suspense from beginning to end. The alarm is still shrieking, but it's not the one in the kitchen that's going off, she realizes-it's the alarm upstairs. So, finding myself in the mood for a good PT or Domestic thriller- however you want to categorize it- I turned to Shari Lapena. She would only be wherever there's a device connected to the internet, so it couldn't have been far.

However, I abhorred the character of Stephanie, who may be the only one who’s supposed to be likable. When a woman shows up in Stephanie's life claiming her husband Patrick murdered his first wife, her life is thrown into turmoil. Also, - and this may be projection on my part - but if you look at most of the words of the letter and replace "Catherine" with "Theodore" and Theodore" with "Samantha", it paints a different light. After a quick glance to check that Teddy is content, Hanna stands up and walks down her porch steps. Thank you to Edelweiss and Pamela Dorman Books for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. She’d merely smiled, delighted with her pregnancy, and was even secretly smug at how good she felt, how easily her body was handling the changes.

The End of Her may have had its hiccups, but nevertheless it kept me engaged and turning the pages through the whole thing. Stephanie and Patrick have a good life together, happily married, with beautiful twin daughters and because this is a Lapena novel you know that things are about to go terribly for them. It is just my honest opinion, but the ending made what had been a fairly decent book into a somewhat disappointing one.The story is a quick read and there is always a sense of tension and danger, with Erica in the picture.

Nine years later in another state, in an idyllic neighborhood, a mother of infant twin girls (Stephanie) struggles with sleep deprivation and overall exhaustion. I took a bit of a break from all my Regency romances this fall in favor of some spooky books for September and October! While The End of Her is only the second book by Shari Lapena that I’ve read, it certainly will not be my last. What a tense, wtf I’m reading but I cannot stop, will not stop because I’m obsessed with the fast pacing, heart pounding, stomach churning novel! This particular author is new to me but it sounds like she has written a number of Regency romances but from a smaller publisher and it looks like she has quite a fan base established and I am super excited to share more about this upcoming series with you guys today! The End of Her is the unputdownable new thriller from the queen of the one-sit read, Shari Lapena – author of The Couple Next Door and Someone We Know.
