About this deal

There's Perrito. Stand out of the supporting cast. The best character of his kind in any film ever. He will melt your heart. If you look at the rationale behind the difference in the release dates between the US and UK, it’s probably to do with post-COVID nervousness and audience differences around the winter holidays. This could just be the plan for cinema and then to brings things a little more in-line for home premier and standard rental, so we’ll try to keep you updated here.

There's also an amazing amount of dvd extras. Which is a nice change seeing how rare those can be nowadays: IN THE BEGINNING - Go behind the scenes with the filmmakers of PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH to discover how they brought this great tale to life.As mentioned above, this will depend on the success of the film at the box office. If it doesn’t do so well then the standard rental could be brought forward with Easter being a very good release period for animated films on home entertainment. How to make a paper Perrito: Six mins of Puss and someone else showing you how to make a paper version of him. Well done and interesting. And more cats! Parental supervision required on the making of though. Just over eleven years since Puss in Boots from the Shrek films got his own solo movie, we suddenly get a sequel to it. You probably could get into this easily if you hadn't seen any of the Shrek films. Or the 2011 Puss in Boots movie. I think it's better to have seen them first though, as you will get a little more out of this if you have. Here, Puss starts by living how he always does. Being the Puss in Boots of legend. The famous, fearless hero. And loving every minute of it. Then he suddenly finds he only has one of his nine lives left.

Can be watched all in a row or individually. The former takes eight mins. Some are not finished in the animation. All are good. With some very good character stuff. Then there's the characters. In addition to doing amazing work with Puss, the cast of supporting ones is superb. Every character is fully rounded. And gets their own storylines with a beginning a middle and an end. We also get a really great villain. A character who is out and out bad. Who know they're that way. And goes with it. That's the way to write a great villain. They do have motivation, so they are three dimensional. But bad with it anyway. It's great.

To say that this movie is INCREDIBLE is already an understatement. It is so GOOD in so many ways. It really taps into the core of how fun and meaningful storytelling through animation can really be. From the stylization to the frame rate drops when in action sequences/battles, this movie is clearly influenced by Spiderverse (which, thank god animation studios are incorporating, that movie is *chef’s kiss). The art is just SO beautiful, the shrek-universe has never looked so good before. ALL-NEW EXCLUSIVE SHORT “THE TRIDENT” - When you're the legendary Puss in Boots, life and death go paw in paw. In this epic original short, Puss recalls one of his most daring deaths yet. First up, the script was clearly sorted first. You do see films like that occasionally where you get such a feeling. This has a solid story. Excellent character development and characterisation. It's central theme happens organically as it goes along and is never overstated. It works. It knows how to tell a story. Which, since he knows how fairytales and stories work, is great. Joel Crawford, Januel Mercado’s compelling animation film, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, made its anticipated debut on the big screen on December 21st, 2022.This is a review of the 2022 animation ‘Puss In Boots: the Last Wish’. We watched it on the 2023 All Region Blu-ray from DreamWorks Animation, and Universal. This plays in 2.39:1 HD Widescreen and 1080p, with 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus audio, that sounds fabulous. The picture quality is also first-rate, with superbly sharp animations, and gorgeously rich colour. This provides 102 minutes of top-of-the-range animation ~ slightly longer than the original. There is also a chunky selection of extras. The animation is stunning. Looking like story books at times. Going into interestingly different styles for action scenes, which really makes those work. The first opportunity to see the film at home is the home premier rental, which is now available in the UK following its arrival in the US. Puss In Boots The Last Wish only came out in cinemas in North America on the 21st December 2022, but it looks like they opted to go relatively early for Home Premier to buy, and the option to rent it online wasn’t too far behind it.

That's the only note of caution. Because all the rest of this is utterly perfect. An amazing viewing experience and you'll never forget it. I can't recommend it highly enough. Hola amigos! It's the sequel you never expected! And possibly didn't ask for! But it didn't take quite as long as Senor Cameron did with his. HOW TO DRAW THE PURRFECT PAWTRAIT - Join Director Joel Crawford and Co-Director Januel Mercado as they teach us how to draw our favorite characters. The visual style of Puss In Boots The Last Wish looks very cool, which is one of the big reasons it did so well in cinemas in North America. However, if you’ve been holding out for the standard digital rental it’s only recently available in the US (03/20/2023). The film came out in cinemas on the 3rd February 2023 in the UK, so the release on home premier rental over here is close to our target range of late-March/early-April 2023. This is pretty much bag on the expected 45-60 days from its initial release on the big screen. It is perhaps a tiny bit too scary for the very young. I would say under eight. Because it does deal with death and mortality. In the shape - literally - of one rather scary character. That is why it's a pg certificate. Just be aware of that, parents. Puss’ was both successful, and critically well-received, and it was the firm intention of Guillermo del Toro (Executive Producer) and Chris Miller (Director), to make a sequel. However, it was a long time in development ~ DreamWorks went through restructuring ~ and the director of the sequel changed to Joel Crawford. Like Miller before him, Crawford had been with DreamWorks for years, working particularly as a Story Artist.
