About this deal
Place your microfiber cloth on the top of the board and pat anywhere that there is water. Make sure that you soak up all of the moisture that you can. Then fold the cloth and press it against the grip until it is mostly dry.
Start at one end of the board and work your way to the other, section by section. This exposes dirt at a greater depth, allowing you to sweep most of it away with your hand. Not only could you injure yourself by slipping off when riding, but you could also hurt someone else when they step on your board. Also, the dirt and grime build-up causes your grip tape to lose traction. Even though this is a safety issue, it’s probably the least serious problem you’ll have if you neglect cleaning your grip tape. There are three methods to clean your grip tape: grip gum, bristle brush, and hairdryer. Each application involves a different situation and we cover all of them below.Remove all of the dirt and grime with your grip gum or rubber. Skateboard grip gum is a high-quality product that cleans your board well. Rub the grip tape like you would a pencil eraser, then brush away the residue. Thoroughly clean your board with grip gum once in a while to keep it looking new. Method 2. Cleaning Grip On A Longboard
On top of the various rubbers, you’ll also get fillers, colorants and so on. By adjusting the proportions and types of the various rubber compounds in the mix, companies like Vibram can tweak the grip, durability and other properties of the sole. If the grip is soiled to the point that it cannot be cleaned, you may need to replace it entirely. Step 2. Use Rubber to Remove Surface CrudMethod 2. If the grip is still too dirty, you can use a lightly damp cloth to clean the grip tape, and then after drying, use the rubber to clean it even further. Keep working until all the filthy areas on the board have been removed. If you have deep stains that won’t disappear, you may need to replace the tape. 4. Use Grip Gum
