About this deal

I really cannot tell you how much of a positive difference the Gro Clock has had on our bedtime routine with BattleKid in the short few weeks we’ve had it. It does take a little while for little ones to get used to the Gro-Clock, and you should start them off slowly.

There is a key lock feature but this can only be activated once the sleep times are activated and I would have liked to be able to lock the clock all of the time. Other parents use the intercom on their baby monitor to tell their kids they have to wait for the sun. Once a toddler is out of the cot and into a bed, this is when the pitter patter of tiny feet begins to ring true. The Gro Clock is silently operated and you have the ability to lock the keys, very important and handy with an inquisitive toddler about! In the Autumn of 2023, I produced a set of videos, showing what I present on the in-person school visits. We also bought a Gro-egg which we have used right up until very recently to accurately measure the temperature of her bedroom. I am also hoping to have a Master Owl animated series, so that children around the world can benefit from his wisdom and mindfulness teaching. it wobbles over – like the egg too and if it gets switched off, bam, you have to reset the whole thing from start. If you have a child that decides the day starts at 5am and everyone must get up with him, then this product will help greatly but with time, effort and patience. This book was written as the companion piece to a separate Gro-Clock device, which was intriguing, and I enjoyed going over the French translations on each page of the book.

So when The Gro Company were looking for bloggers to review another of their products, I put myself forward and was really excited when they picked me! The Gro-clock is a brilliant addition to your child’s nursery or bedroom and I would recommend it, not only as a clock or an alarm but also as a dimmed bedroom light. In this case, you may be worried that your kid will realize that there are, in fact, occasions when he’s allowed to get out of bed before the sun comes up. However, Mia let me know that she had seen the ‘sunshine face’ come out and was very, very excited about it! If they're waking at 5am now and your goal is 7am you can get there in smaller increments, so that they can succeed sooner. In hindsight, I should have introduced him to Mr Sunshine during the day so he became familiar with him before bedtime. The Gro Clock has a great built-in energy-saving mode so although it is mains operated you don’t need to worry about energy consumption. Top tip : If your child is used to waking at 6am, don’t set the clock for 8am and expect them to suddenly stay in bed for an extra 2 hours.

Introducing the Ollie the Owl Groclock, a fun new twist on the award winning Groclock and a new addition to Ollie’s family. We already have a Gro Egg bedroom thermometer so we know that they are quality products, but did it work with going to bed and getting up? However, all the opinions expressed about the Gro Clock in this review are wholly my own and have not been influenced in any way other than by our experience of using it. The Gro-clock has an alarm which can be set if you have older children who would benefit from one and although we don’t use this but it would be great for primary school children to get them up in the morning.Due to popular request, this 2010 version of the Gro-Clock has a new feature allowing parents to choose whether or not to display the digital clock during the usual ‘stars to sun’ countdown.

When setting the clock, the face shows a cool relaxing moon face with a series of stars that disappear until the clock is ready to tell the child they may get up. Not just any clock, the Gro-Clock helps children to understand and recognise the difference between sleep time and getting up time. The recommended age for use of the Gro Clock is 2 years but the Gro Clock has helped us with BattleKid already! Spending the time reading the book together is really nice and she already knows most of the words and finishes off the sentences. Every night, a routine was put into place, finishing up with a twenty minute story session letting him pick his favourite books. As the time passes and reaches your pre-set wake-up time, the stars start to gradually disappear until there are only hearts left and our lovable Ollie the Owl appears awake on a yellow background. When it’s time to sleep, the blue clock face features a sleepy Ollie the Owl surrounded by hearts and stars.
