About this deal

His grief over Trump broadens into agonised meditations upon democracy, populism and whither-the-left in Britain.

When Crystal ends up being murdered in his seat during the play, the rather Keystone Cops story begins. Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness; natives give it solidity and continuity; but the settlers give it passion.A Shot in the Dark follows the story of Ely, new student at a prestigious NYC art school for photography, and Wyatt, professor at said school, as they navigate a one night stand that turns into more, While it’s definitely a romance with all its trappings, it’s a look into rediscovering what it means to be in community with one an other. But when Wyatt Cole walks into the classroom, Ely realizes the man she just spent the night with is her teacher.

Throughout the book, the impression is that the characters are the author’s concept of Keystone Cops types of figures who bumble through their day with total lack of intelligence and foresight. whilst the inciting event of two strangers going for a romp, insensible to the fact that come morning they’re in for a nasty surprise and oh hey student x professor (partial as I am to this) - is tropey if not a little tired, lee deftly turns every expectation on its head almost immediately.Because it's not your usual serious "bad guys do bad things and the good guys work hard to solve the mystery and put the bad guys away" type of mystery. If you have a quirky sense of humour and you’re a fan of the ridiculous, then this mystery series is for you! The steady, magisterial voice that informs his epic sequence up to Modernity Britain (2013-2014) is in these pages more tentative, troubled, ambivalent. As the massacre took place, the local constabulary were enjoying a leisurely ice cream with extra raspberry sauce!

this review is going to be fucking incoherent but i bought this book before its release date completely coincidentally, serendipitously, and unknowing. But everything starts to go awry and one murder follows another, as everything that can go wrong - does! Managing to rub all of his superiors up the wrong way with his rather irritating smart aleck persona, Twittern has been moved from station to station and so jumps at the chance to work for the esteemed Inspector Steine. It was really cute watching him be awkward and shy around Ely (and god damn, he was great in the spice).
