It all sounds mundane and coarse, but that is the charm and also it serves a colossal purpose; it encapsulates the imagery and environment of working class Britain and fuses with Williamson’s impassioned, irate vocal rants about Boris Johnson and Gordon Brown being ‘wankers’ on the track ‘My Jampandy’. A perfect introduction to the Nottingham duo creating a hybrid of Public Enemy and John Cooper Clarke.Black Moth are four super talented individuals, Harriet Bevan - vocals, Jim Swainston - guitar, Dave Vachon - bass, and Dom McCready, battering the crap out of his drums. They are aggressive but don't seem to take themselves too seriously, so all the tunes end up sounding extremly catchy, in a weird way. They're also a big part of the burgeoning Leeds heavy rock scene alongside Pulled Apart By Horses, Kong, Hawk Eyes and Gentlemen's Pistols, it looks like it's about to break. I also think it's fair to say that this is a highly lyrics-driven album, and that if you don't get those lyrics you will struggle to find anything to like.
