The AstroMaster AZ mount head is a simple alt-azimuth design, much like a basic photo tripod pan head that allows movement up-down and left-right, with the only adjustment control being a handle to lock the altitude axis and a simple lever/brake clutch for the azimuth axis. It attaches to the LT 76AZ optical tube and other tubes with a standard Vixen-style dovetail saddle. Secondly, at night no matter what we try we can see absolutely nothing but blackness, even when we line the finder scope up to a bright star. I have recently bought a 76AZ and seen some incredible sites of the Moon, Venus was good to observe too (all through the 20mm) However Mars was a disappointment probably due to its size; and when I attach the Barlow Lense the zoom is there but the quality is definitely compromised.The bodies of the reflector telescope can be made smaller, all while maintaining the same level of magnification.
