The Time of the Doctor was released as part of the 50th anniversary limited collector’s set along with Day of the Doctor, also, the 50th and Time are referred to as The Specials in the Matt Smith Years bluray set. Bill shoots him and it appears he is regenerating, but it is all a trick to see whether Bill has been fooled by the Monks. It still clearly is not the worst Doctor Who episode ever, but it is rather anticlimactic and a disappointing final part of the Monks trilogy. The performances of Capaldi and Mackie were met with the most praise, as well as the writing, plots, and themes of the episodes. Her quiet little moments with Twelfth Doctor who remains irresolute as she attempts to convince him that she is the genuine article is wonderfully realized through their nuanced performances.
