About this deal

You have to be brain-dead not to get that "tingly" feeling as your mind fills with the images of times gone by. The long-awaited reunion of the "Rumours" version of Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham) At this live MTV concert, they perform . But, it's a shame the 'Mac' couldn't have released something like this for the first albums (but then they wouldn't have had the polish, the sense, the wisdom and the heart, perhaps, that they have now, which makes it possible). During "You Make Loving Fun", Christine looks to the side at *somebody* and gets this smile on her face as she sings. They stayed on to play on Don't Stop, the first time the band had ever attempted the song with a brass section.

The live TV event and subsequent album and DVD release brought the famous 5 Fleetwood Mac members back together and back to life frankly in 1997 after struggling as a band in the 1990s. The best part of it when of the ending of the concert was the USC Marching Band performing with the group with "TUSK" and "DON'T STOP", a highlight.Does not appear on the CD, but was released as a B-side of "Silver Springs" and on the 2CD edition of The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac. on the Billboard 200 with sales of 199,000, The Dance became the fifth best-selling live album of all time in the United States, selling a million copies within eight weeks, spending more than seven months within the top 40, and eventually selling over 6,000,000 copies worldwide. I've heard the Dixie Chicks cover first and liked it, but hearing the original version is much better.

There are several DVD's out there of Fleetwood Mac but none of them measure up to this re-union concert. Most of the others have either someone missing from the lineup or members appearing on stage and certainly not enjoying themselves as they do on this one. Awesome to hear the Old tunes but even greater to see how the band has evolved into what was presented in this concert! In this behind-the-scenes look at the making of Fleetwood Mac’s epic, platinum-selling double album, Tusk, producers and engineers Ken Caillat and Hernan Rojas tell their stories of spending a year with the band in their new million-dollar studio trying to follow up Rumours, the biggest rock album of the time. For a divorced couple, both John and Christie McVie put aside their differences to deliver an electric performance and Mick Fleetwood just superb on drums. All have had their share of divorce, sex, drugs, and too much rock and roll or, was it the other way around? An excellent range of their music, with close ups of them performing, Mick on his drums, Chris Mc Vee on her keyboards, and Lyndsey’s guitar skills, to forgetting John or Stevie. At first I thought this should be a more eclectic collection, with different songs that were a little more surprising.

Many of my favorite songs like "Rhiannon", "Big Love", "Say You Love Me", "You Make Loving Fun" and "Go Your Own Way" were played and I "discovered new songs" I hadn't heard before, like "Silver Springs" and "Landslide". The versions on this DVD of “Big Love “ , “ Go Insane” and “ I’m so afraid “ are done with such heart that it leaves you breathless! Finally, the group's admirers will have a unique portrait of what made Mick and the rest of the group tick in the midst of their massive success and personal trials. The concert was recorded for Fleetwood Mac's MTV The Dance special at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California, and features the University of Southern California Marching Band who perform on the tracks " Tusk" (having played on the original studio recording) and " Don't Stop". Now when I hear Gold Dust Woman from the studio album, in my head I'm hearing Stevie go off on 'you'd better SELL IT!

Read all The long-awaited reunion of the "Rumours" version of Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham) At this live MTV concert, they perform their greatest hits, and a few new songs.

Apart from the fabulous music (as previous reviewers have noted age has improved the performance) a relational mystery is going on.Songs performed: "The Chain," "Dreams," "I'm So Afraid," "Gypsy," "My Little Demon," "Rhiannon," "Sweet Girl," "Don't Stop," "Songbird" and many more! The big reunion concert, from a few years ago, of the battling and estranged members of Fleetwood Mac - concert apparently first shown on MTV. I've always thought "You Make Loving Fun" was a good song, but something about the live version irked me. His guitar work is amazing, proving he is one of the best and most underrated guitarists of all time.
