About this deal

There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. Funny, frank and never less than entertaining, this is Tyson Fury at his very best, as you have never read before.

What will come afterwards, just living at home with his beloved wife, Paris, and their six children? From Irish traveller heritage, the "Gypsy King" is undefeated in 33 professional fights, winning 32 with 19 knockouts, and drawing once. He's 6ft 9in, nimble and a boxing great - but it's the Gypsy King's internal monologue that makes him No 1. Other than an insight into his faith and mental health problems, the rest just felt a usual story of I did this and that, which you already knew. The man himself says it’s just an act, designed to maximise attention and therefore viewers and profit. I’m a massive Tyson Fury fan and enjoyed this book - wasn’t so keen on Jake Wood narrating it but got used to him. The undefeated heavyweight champion Tyson Fury looks back on his life and career to understand his remarkable rise, fall, and rise again, which has seen him journey from the brink of suicide to boxing immortality, culminating in his sensational knockout victory against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in front of a record-breaking 94,000 fans.

He’s a mighty and furious legend, but soft and vulnerable, he shows this in his book and it’s really important to hear about this side.THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AND AWARD-WINNING AUTHORAS SEEN ON NETFLIX’S AT HOME WITH THE FURYS ‘Tyson Fury is an amazing real-life champion’ – Sylvester Stallone, star of Rocky’The People’s Champion’ – Times’A boxing phenomenon…the anarchic and enormous sports star may prove to be the last of the boxing greats’ – John Sutherland, The TimesSon. A lot of it has already been told in his previous books but it makes no difference because it's all relevant, and keeps you updated. I was a bit dubious about reading Tyson Fury's third book or autobiography in as many years, but I enjoyed the book. Tyson also shares a side of him that few people get to see and that in the weeks before the biggest fight of his career in 2021 he was sleeping on the hospital floor in intensive care following the premature birth of his daughter Athena who was fighting for her life.

Which fights get made, and which fights don’t, comes down to a number of opaque factors, but image and presentation can often be as important as style and ability. By the end of the book, as he surveys the potential contenders, he appears indistinguishable from all those predecessors who didn’t know when to say goodbye. There is no mention, for example, of Daniel Kinahan, the alleged Irish gangster based in Dubai, whom Fury publicly thanked in 2020 for his work as a boxing promoter. Perhaps, but this is a guy who refers to himself in the third person and it’s just possible that the act has taken up more permanent residence in his personality. In the process, Tyson discusses his mental health and weight battles, his faith and his greatest boxing experiences.

Told with unflinching honesty and rock-star charisma, Gloves Off by Tyson Fury is the autobiography of a sporting icon, the like of which we may never see again. He celebrates the importance of fitness and his efforts to get in shape, but rejects sports science, heart-rate monitors and data assessment. Tyson was victorious in the second fight against Deontay Wilder in February 2020, defeating his opponent by seventh-round technical knockout.
