One of WWII’s finest historians, James Holland is the author of Sicily ’43, Normandy ’44, Big Week, The Rise of Germany and The Allies Strike Back in the War in the West trilogy, and Dam Busters.A direct hit on a tank with a panzerfaust warhead could ignite the ammunition in a tank turning it into a blazing inferno in seconds, like in the movie "Fury," yet one blasted through the armor of another and passed harmlessly between a man's legs merely scorching his pant legs.

James Holland is a well-known WW II historian and has written many books (and I've read most of them). The SRY being on the offensive most of the time meant the Germans had the advantage firing the first shot, which, whether from an anti-tank Gun, German tank, or from a Panzerfaust held by an infantryman was often fatal to the SRY tank if not always the crew as well. Throughout the campaign the SRY suffered horrendous casualties with replacement soldiers, many in their early 20's taking the place of the dead and wounded as they fought their way from the Normandy beaches through France, Belgium and Holland across the river Rhine and into Germany.

Later in the campaign he was wounded, but he survived the war, came home to Marion, and died in 1986. Holland often talks extensively and passionately about the SRY in his podcast ,(WeHaveWaysOfMakingYouTalk) and has written/edited An Englishman At Ear by Major Stanley Christopherson who is CO the SRY and features heavy in Brothers In Arms. You are also brought along with the officers and the enlisted men who make up the unit and who suffer like all of the rest giving their life for peace hopefully. In The Coldest Case: A Black Book Audio Drama, homicide detective Billy Harney sends his new partner, Kate, deep undercover in a notorious Chicago drug ring. In Love Is Not Enough, Mark’s first Audible Original, you’ll follow five real people over the course of six months as they navigate f--ked up romantic situations, ranging from dating app addiction to marital affairs to absurd fantasies.

Please don't worry about about the condition of any 2nd Hand Books or other items you purchase, they'll be exactly as described in the details section. although I enjoyed this for the most part I felt some details of the many figures in the regiment could have been spared, or possible have had a more focused look on just a few of the soldiers to limit confusion on the endless amounts of stories taking place. while in Normandy the Sherwood Rangers came up against a considerable amount of defence as they advanced south with many of the Germans best tanks being brought into the region.
