If we gave a totally different person a magic potion that meant you two could fuck, would THAT person be the love of your life in a couple weeks? Because, like…if the reason you’re emotionally invested in this person is just because you can safely bang, then that could be anybody right there. I liked the idea of a Hades and Persephone retelling but the story was a little too mismatched for my liking.I was reading the scene where Arlo and Faenir had just finished enjoying themselves in a public hallway and after they were done, it just seemed they stepped right back out into public, no problem. It took me a while to get into this but overall it was a pretty decent book, if I could I would give it 3.

Arlo hated Faenir as much as any captive would his captor, which I expect (and love) to see, but then he instantly forgives and starts to love him after hearing his tragic life story. And because he never touched anyone else, he is a virgin (which I actually liked as a plot point) but after the first time couple of times he turned into a beast in the sheets (which I didn't like anymore). I believe I would have enjoyed King more if I hadn't read Lord because I would have been a little more surprised.All it took for Arlo to actually throw himself into Faenir's arms was Myrinn telling him about why the queen hated Faenir.
