For some reason, though, and unlike most figures in the War for Cybertron range, Ultra Magnus has no ankle pivot. This G1-inspired toy converts into Earth armored truck mode in 12 steps and comes with a blaster accessory. The fists are particularly unsightly as they just stick out the back in full view, even with the trailer attached.
If we're going by comparing it to existing relatives (birds), I'd say the circular pupil is actually probably more accurate than any slit-eyed depiction, although that's ultimately just conjecture. At Into The Verse Toys, our goal is to provide excellent retro action figures, collectibles, model kits and toys with complete satisfaction. Between that and the weight, this definitely feels like a figure that justifies its Leader class status. This figure has been partially remoulded and deco’d to best reflect his G1 look, and with no battle damage!just kinda sucks (outside of the awful Dark of the Moon Deluxe class one): the core robot of Siege's Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime is clearly a retool of the Ultra Magnus mold (it's only when he's armored up that he actually looks like the Transformers Cybertron Optimus Prime Super Mode/Transformers Galaxy Force Galaxy Convoy Super Mode), and Takara's got a new Optimus Prime on the way that is a *direct* repaint of the Kingdom Ultra Magnus core robot. It's very rare that an Optimus Prime figure isn't a winner in a Transformers toy line, so Magnus' inner robot was very unlikely to turn out badly. However, Ractonite does seem the most awkward of the Fossilizers so far in terms of proportion in his robot mode. However, in this case, i find it weird that they just put regular, round pupil on the dino eyes, not the elongated pupil that should be closer to actual raptor. And I don’t get the impression that you’d be missing a whole lot if you decided to pass on the Kingdom version.
The shoulder armor slides in, and then plugs with with the gray pieces connecting to a tab on the back of the core bot's arm. Kingdom Ultra Magnus is a retool of the Siege figure from 2018, slightly altering the design to even more closely resemble his original G1 look. This figure has been partially remolded and deco’d to best reflect his G1 look, and with no battle damage! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It definitely looks better than the Siege version and is sufficiently different from it despite being similar in terms of transformation.But on top of being one of the beefiest members in the 1986 Autobot crew, Kingdom Ultra Magnus has all that modern Transformers line articulation to boast about as well. You can see the top half of the figure through the window on the front but this box is definitely more about the artwork, with the front featuring Magnus in alt mode while robot mode appears along that diagonal spine. Flip open the cab and pull the head down, and to complete the look, flip down the waist flap, swivel it around, and peg it in. They do different things for me - Siege Magnus is with my other Wreckers, Earthrise Magnus is in alt-mode awaiting Galvatron for That Scene. He is slightly ill proportioned and certainly looks better with the back section elevated to shoulder height rather than left off the back of his hips as shown in the promotional images.
