About this deal

Luther Vandross' 1999 Greatest Hits may not be as generous as 1989's The Best of Luther Vandross, which contained 20 tracks on two discs, but it's a good, concise, 14-track collection that includes many of his very best songs. Under the terms of the licence agreement, an individual user may print out a PDF of a single entry from a reference work in OR for personal use (for details see Privacy Policy and Legal Notice). Content you previously purchased on Oxford Biblical Studies Online or Oxford Islamic Studies Online has now moved to Oxford Reference, Oxford Handbooks Online, Oxford Scholarship Online, or What Everyone Needs to Know®. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

It was always going to be tough covering arguably the greatest love song duet of all time, originally by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. There is a lot of overlap with Best Of -- it shares no less than nine tracks with that collection -- but it also has such-'90s hits as "Don't Want to Be a Fool" and "Power of Love / Love Power. The album will also feature a bonus, previously unreleased track from the archives, ‘Love It, Love It’, which brings back the upbeat and soulful sounds of the much loved multi-platinum-selling artist. The Best of Love is the first compilation album by American singer Luther Vandross, released on October 4, 1989. Essentially, it's for casual fans who want all the big hits on one disc -- serious listeners will want to stick with Best Of.

This track was a Grammy-nominated duet between Luther and Janet Jackson, recorded for the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-produced soundtrack to the 1992 film, Mo' Money. The original recording of the track was from 1994, around the time of the album release ‘Never Let Me Go’. Luther's first ever solo single is also one of his best, and is still a truly fantastic disco pop song. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).The lead single from his Give Me the Reason album, Luther reached the top 30 in the UK with this upbeat favourite. Luther Vandross ‘The Greatest Hits’ includes 16 tracks spanning Luther’s three decade career including hits ‘Never Too Much’ and ‘Dance With My Father’, as well as his famous collaborations with Beyoncé on ‘The Closer I Get To You’ and Mariah Carey on ‘Endless Love’. Luther Vandross had one of the all-time greatest singing voices, from his time as an in-demand backing singer to going solo in the '80s. However, it became one of Luther's best loved songs, and was first recorded by Dionne Warwick on her aforementioned album How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye.
