About this deal

Much more than an ordinary atlas, this book of maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly drawn illustrations from the incomparable Mizielinskis. May also contain light spine creasing or a few markings such as an owner's name, short gifter's inscription or light stamp. The few adults who have picked this up in my house and had a quick look through it have all said how good it is.

You can learn so much from this amazing book, about the famous places, geography, cultural ways, animals, food. With so much to see this book would make a lovely Christmas gift and will certainly keep everyone entertained after Christmas lunch! The oversized coffee table book has double page spreads of each map, beginning with a world map then split into continents, with maps from a selection of countries from that continent behind the continent map. The amount of interesting information any child or adult can pick up from thumbing through this book is amazing in my opinon. This book is so informative, and generates so many conversations for learning about the world - Geography, Cultures, Language, Food, Animals, History, etc.

The country pages are very detailed and all include the flag, capital city, the languages spoken, population, and area as well as a host of other illustrations about the country including the wildlife, food, buildings, famous people and many more. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Released to mark the 10th anniversary of the very first edition, this book features 16 brand new maps and has new material on every page.

There is a dearth of information about some of these places (publishers tend to concentrate on what they see as the 'main' countries), particularly for young children. The book of 52 brilliantly illustrated maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly meticulous drawings from Polish duo Aleksandra and Daniel Mizielinski. Dust Jackets are not guaranteed and when still present, they will have various degrees of tear and damage.

This book would have been very welcome at my school last term when Iceland was included in the Year 1 topic of Around the World! This is an innovative approach to geography which will keep young and not so young, discoverers coming back again and again to pore over the quirky, delightful drawings. Please note that due to customs restrictions, we are unable to deliver alcohol to Northern Ireland addresses. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

A feast for the eyes, with lavish drawings from the Mizielinskis, go on a journey and discover cities, rivers, mountains as well as cultural places of interest, iconic animals and personalities. The countries are illustrated with animals - both current and prehistoric - which makes retention of facts so much easier. Es un libro hermoso, las ilustraciones son de lo más lindas y tiene muchísima información divertida hasta para adultos. Não é um atlas completo, pois não contem todos os países, mas recomendo como livro introdutório para crianças.I love books like this that that introduce geography and culture to children without them realising that they are actually learning! As someone else mentioned it it a bit cluttered, however one of the biggest disappointments for me was Ireland barely being referenced.
