A nerd like me especially appreciates THOSE kinds of intellectual chops to go with phenomenal dance moves and jumbo-practical wisdom. There were several good tidbits and reframes that were useful, but it read like a lit-crit written by a white woman completely unaware of her privilege. I know someone is going to tell me it is not that deep, but I think that's the issue: It shouldn't have been that deep, but Marie was the one who compared her reader as the next coming of Hitler without any awareness of the implications of what it represents. billion people on the planet and counting, there are more than enough humans with a diverse set of needs, perspectives, problems, preferences, desires, and tastes. I may have also been just a little bit hormonal because there was a couple of stories in that chapter that just brought tears to my eyes.

I knew she was wildly popular amongst Millenials and that her TV show and B-School were held in high regard. She also taught me to pay close attention to the free stuff that brands would send you—like recipe books or cooking utensils—if you saved up and mailed in a “proof of purchase.
