About this deal

Whilst it is most common to use a spotting scope at a target range, sometimes you want or need something more compact and easy to carry. So here a spotter or even yourself can at use this Vortex monocular and the reticle to get accurate information to make adjustment s to your shot, be that with a rifle, gun or bow.

The 15x50 might not be as good optically (they don't have the L-series glass), and they are not fully waterproof. They are easier to hold than the 10x42. I kept mine, and use them sometimes as a "scope-substitute" when I don't feel like carrying a scope on a long walk. Over long distance views like marshes and estuaries, they are lighter and easier to handle than regular binos plus scope. I also use them for seawatching, when my eyes get tired of scoping. 15x will never be an "all-purpose" bino, though. For this I prefer 8x. The Opticron Oregon 4 PC 8x42 is an ideal choice for those in need of a durable all-weather monocular, being both waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging. For general astronomical use, it features a 42mm objective lens that allows just the right amount of light, and the 8x magnification guarantees a clear and stable image while scanning the night sky. I use my muggle and IS bins like manual 'zooms'. I use low mag muggles to look around, if I see something of interest, I go up the IS mags ( X10, x12, x15, x18), until I see the level of detail I want. If that's still deficient, then I use spotting scopes, 65mm, 80mm, 100mm (x67), 125mm SCT.

Vantage

A nice feature of these is that Canon grants 5 minutes of stability with one touch of the button... no need to step on it. That’s a nice creature comfort and I’m frankly not sure why their other, smaller, more affordable models don’t offer it - not cool. Another nice touch are the two double AAs instead of coin batteries that you might not easily find out in the field. Two Energizer lithiums have served me well for the past 3 months. I think each pair grant 9 hours of IS, which is generous. The 10x30 and 12x36 models that I reviewed were superb and that has got me thinking, just how much magnification can you get before even image stabilization binoculars need a tripod? I think the 18x canon's would be even harder to find a bird with - and I'm not sure the added power would gain much. Designed for professionals and uncompromising enthusiasts, this high-magnification binoculars incorporate innovative technologies that set a new standard of performance. This means that all lens surfaces throughout the optical pathway are treated with this special anti-reflection material and thus results in an increase in light transmission and less unwanted reflections for improved image quality and brighter views. Whilst the equivalent Vortex Vulture HD 15x56 binocular at 43.6oz is also almost three times heavier than the Vortex Recon R/T 15x50 Monocular and is 7.6 inches long by 5.8 inches wide, whilst the Vortex Kaibab HD 18x56 Binoculars are also very similar.

However, the ease of transport and carrying goes even further than this with the inclusion of a carry clip on the side of the body.

The Apexel 36x super zoom is a multi-purpose lens that can be used as both a monocular and as a telephoto lens for your smartphone camera. It's also one of the most affordable options on our list. and so the effective value is much less - more like 11mm. This means a greatly reduced field with glasses on and just isn’t up to However, for eyeglass wearers, or those who need some sort of eye protection for shooting, the only option you have is folded down, which with16mm, of eye-relief, this should be enough to achieve the full field of view. The IS series feature eyepiece lenses with a unique Doublet Field Flattener, which dramatically reduces curvature of field. As a result, there is none of the image distortion and blurring at the periphery typical of high-magnification binoculars. This advanced design also results in long eye relief, which enables eyeglass wearers to view the entire field without vignetting. What with crocodiles, great whites and snakes in Perth, I prefer to stay here. It was suggested he tried surfing in Perth. He said what about the sharks? 'Oh don't worry about them'.

15x50 IS All Weather

But since the OP mentioned birds - for me I transitioned from 8x42 B&L elite to the 15x50 - and although it was great to have the high mag and stability, for birds it was much harder to find the bird due to the higher power and field of view - and the close focus distance is quite far for a bird that is nearby. And the batteries don't last long so for a good outing you should bring spares. Therefore, just be aware that the 15x50 Vortex Recon RT monocular is not an ideal solution if you plan on using them often in conditions that you would experience at or just after sunset Finance is only available to permanent UK residents aged between 18 and 80, subject to status, terms and conditions apply. Something that I see on most Vortex monoculars, but on many others is the utility clip on the side of the body. Celestron Outland X 10x50 monocular: With the inclusion of a smartphone mount, this could be considered an ideal digiscoping companion with its astronomy-centric optics. For discovering and studying open star clusters, the Moon and the Milky Way, the 50mm objective lenses with 10x magnification are ideal.★★★½

Despite the Nikon in having an angular stabilization of 3 degreess (or 3.5 degrees I don't remember) against 0.7 from Canons - the image through these 14x40's "floats" more when panning (with the Cannons this is way less) and even when you are watching stars or some still objects you can notice on their fine details a kind of "residual vibration" which doesn't allow you to see them as

Nature-Trek

The very powerful 15x magnification working in conjunction with the very high level of optical glass and coatings will most certainly deliver a very detailed and high-resolution image at long distances.
