About this deal

For a person charged with an offence under section 141(1A) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 of possession of a curved sword in private to show that a)the person was a Sikh at the time the offence is alleged to have been committed and possessed the sword for the purpose only of presenting it to another person at a religious ceremony or other ceremonial event, or (b)the sword was presented to the person by a Sikh at a religious ceremony or other ceremonial event. A knife that extends automatically, or by pressing a button or spring that is in or attached to the handle. Possession of certain dangerous knives - Section 1A Restriction of Offensive Weapons Act 1959- as inserted by section 44 of OWA.

For a minimum sentence to apply to a 'second strike' possession offence, the sequence must be conviction (guilty plea or finding of guilt) for the first relevant offence and then commission of the second “index offence” after 17 July 2015. Minimum sentences will not apply if the second offence was committed whilst the offender was on bail awaiting trial for the first offence. Relevant offences for both the index offence and previous convictions are set out in section 315 Sentencing Act 2020. A knife where the handle fits within a clenched fist and the blade comes out from between two fingers.

Gentleman's knife

As with blade steels, there are a wealth of options when it comes to handling materials. Spyderco, for instance, utilizes fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) for most of its lightweight models.

These are probably not the “best” knives with a 3″ blade. Not only is this highly subjective, but the best knives are often not feasible to carry on a daily basis. See section 142 Criminal Justice Act 1988. Responsible Retailer Agreements / HO voluntary agreement

These may have a bit less of a warm feeling in the hand and may impair your grip when slippery. But their durability and rigidity are not to be overlooked. It holds an edge reasonably well but is very corrosion-resistant. It’s also easy to sharpen. So, for a knife that will likely open a lot of letters and boxes but probably not do much bushcrafting, it has a reasonable price while offering plenty of performance. The NPCC and CPS have produced guidance on charging children and young people. This can be found here. This guidance explains the approach that should be taken in respect of 16 and 17 year olds as well as children under 16 years old. Instead, I chose really nice knives that function well, look nice, and are affordable enough that you won’t cry when you scratch or (heaven forbid) lose it. The Ramadi is part of CRKT’s Forged By War series of knives which were all designed by veterans with combat experience. A portion of the proceeds from this series of knives are donated to the veteran’s charity of the designer’s choice. This Ramadi was designed by Special Ops veteran, Darren William Sirois who also designed the CRKT Siwi which appears further down in this article.

This Practical Guidance document sets out the approach of the Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to knife crime offending. The document will be updated periodically to reflect changes in legislation as well as changes in any guidance or policy introduced by the Police or CPS. Also known as ‘switchblades’ or ‘automatic knives’. Folding knives where the blade opens automatically, by gravity or by pressing a button or something else on the knife. The handle is a high-grade aluminum alloy with a standard TPR finish. There is a belt clip for ease of carrying as well as glass break for safety. The Guardian 3 sheath pictured above is really easy to change between cross-draw carry or scout carry. The knife can just be flipped around in its sheath and you are good to go. You can’t wear the sheath in the vertical carry position since the belt loop is a stitched-in leather strap, but Bradford makes some great Kydex sheaths for this knife that are little more versatile. Possession of a multi-tool incorporating a prohibited blade or pointed article is capable of being an offence under this section even if there are other tools on the instrument, which may be of use to a person in a public place, for example a screwdriver or a can opener. It is for the person to prove on the balance of probabilities that they have a good reason for possession.

It’s always nice when knife companies listen to their customers, and that’s what it looks like Gerber was doing. Lots of us have been wanting a bushcraft style knife with a sheath system as versatile as the Gerber Ghostrike, and the Principle definitely delivered. A knife where the blade opens automatically or is released from the handle, either by gravity or by pressing a button or something else on the knife. For offences committed before 28 June 2022, the judge must impose the minimum sentence unless the court is of the opinion that there are “particular circumstances” which relate to the offence, the previous offence(s), or the offender which would make it unjust in all circumstances. What we love about this knife is its versatile and rugged Wharncliffe blade. It’s a lesser-used shape compared to the drop point, but one that can really work well. This 3-inch blade has a fantastic grind that narrows the tip substantially, resulting in a tool that can do darned near anything pretty well. There are two sheath options for the Rat 3. The cheaper option is the basic nylon sheath pictured below. The other option is a kydex sheath with the Tek Lok. Both options allow you to carry the Rat 3 horizontally or vertically.
