About this deal

In addition, it comes with a small wrench to tighten the mechanism once you’ve rotated it to your desired angle. Everything works well together, but it can be difficult to remove due to the tight screws. Some mounts have a screw system, some are clamps, and some are a combination of the two. You have to decide which mounting mechanism will work the best for your bicycle, as they all work well in different situations. Build Quality If you do use the GoPro style of clamp make sure you select the correct sized rubber shim for your bar type. Once in place also make sure it’s clamped down tight, and you switch on HyperSmooth or image stabilisation to cut out the inevitable vibrations. Adding a GoPro seat mount to your bike Also, try to balance the weight of the camera on the pole, you can use a zip tie to harness to your helmet or add weight to the end of the pole. You’ll see what I mean when you try. Attaching a GoPro handlebar mount to your bike

The design is usually full metal although I have seen plastic ones that I would highly recommend avoiding.

The best GoPro accessories you can buy in 2023

The perspective you get from the camera will be upside down and of your rear tyre, but when cut in with visuals from other cameras the effect can be dramatic. When fitting again make sure the rails are clean and give them a good wipe down before you start the installation. If using the mount it’s worth making sure your camera has auto orientation switched on, this saves you having to flip the video before editing. Mounting a GoPro camera on your wheel skewer Outside of typical mounts and attachments, there are several other accessories that can really boost your GoPro’s flexibility. Spare batteries are always a welcome addition, enabling you to shoot for longer while on the go. A decent case for organising attachments, memory cards and cables is always worth considering. Additionally, lights, waterproof housings and GoPro’s official accessory mods can all come in handy. GoPro subscription discounts

In terms of setup, it takes a few seconds to clamp the mount to your handlebars. It fits any round tube from 0.87 to 1.38 inches. However, you can also attach the mount to reflective mirrors with a diameter ranging from 0.27 to 0.63 inches. What’s the benefit? That depends on the shot you want…if we’re being honest, chest and helmet cams provide a bit better perspective for both riding and following someone. But with the latest action cameras offering incredibly good stabilization and wide angles, getting good follow-cam footage from the handlebar is entirely possible. It was an extremely welcome move when GoPro started introducing touchscreens into its Hero cameras, but screens of course do need to be looked after, and this is doubly true for action cameras that are thrown into tough situations. My main criticism of this camera is that the 360-degree swivel doesn’t let you set any position. This is because it has specific stops about 20 to 25 degrees apart. So although you can technically swivel it 360 degrees, it doesn’t offer truly precise viewing angles. Again as with the helmet and bar mount the chest mount makes a great primary camera position. Using multiple GoPro cameras on your bikeGoPro’s current lineup of action cameras offer some of the best video stabilisation around, but for cinematic camera movements, nothing quite compares to a dedicated gimbal. Compact and versatile, the Zhiyun Crane M2 S is a three-axis stabiliser that can be paired with your GoPro, smartphone or mirrorless camera. It offers dedicated stabilisation modes for recording smooth panning, POV and follow shots and even boasts a vortex mode for filming creative transitions. Or, take it to the next level and if you’re out cycling with friends who also have GoPro’s switch between cameras when it comes to the edit.

There’s actually two different GoPro mounts offered by KOM. The bundle tested and shown here is the CM06 computer mount, which is different than their other mounts in that it has the quarter-turn tabs built into the bottom of it. Keeping just one position can be boring, so to liven up your footage by swapping your camera between different positions to get alternate perspectives.

Using multiple GoPro cameras on your bike

GoPro’s action cameras are a fantastic way to record your activities – but to get the best footage, you’ll need the best GoPro accessories. Furthermore, the adjustable ball head lets you rotate your GoPro in any direction. For example, if you come across beautiful scenery on your left-hand side during your bike ride, you can simply rotate your camera to capture the footage. It’s essentially a harness, pop it on, bolt on the GoPro and you’re ready to go. The over the view perspective of the bar as you ride is impressive; it can also highlight any mistakes that you make when riding the trial. While some bikers find this mount inconvenient, I personally love using this mount for bike rides. It offers a lot of viewing angle creativity, allowing me to make unique and captivating GoPro bike videos. Furthermore, this mount makes it easy to film other bikers since you can simply turn and point the camera in any direction. The main criticism I have about the GoPro Hand + Wrist Strap is its relatively high price point compared to other options on today’s list. Furthermore, wearing this mount for extended periods of time can be uncomfortable since your GoPro hangs off your wrist. Nonetheless, this is an incredibly fun GoPro bike mount I highly recommend to all bikers.

In terms of build quality, this mount is made with waterproof materials. For this reason, you don’t need to worry about getting it covered in rain or snow. The 360-degree rotational capabilities let you easily adjust your camera to any position. It’s also one-size-fits-all and a perfect fit for any size adult wrist. A good idea here is to sync all the cameras crudely. If one of you shouts start recording and then once all cameras have started one of you claps as loudly as possible, you’ll have an audio key to sync the clips when editing. Using remotes and apps GoPro’s Hero cameras are rugged, feature in-built mounting points and 10m of waterproofing straight out of the box. While this should see you in good stead for most activities, for more extreme sports and diving, you may wish to consider protection. While some third party options are available, when it comes to waterproofing especially we’d always recommend going for the real deal. Always consider the size of your handlebars when searching for mounts that clamp on them. If the handlebars are large, it is possible that the mount will not be big enough to clamp down in a way that keeps the camera steady. Mounting MechanismI also put a dab of Loctite on the screws just to ensure they stay in place and don’t work free over time.
