About this deal

Representing a second attempted expedition to find 'The Beast', the bottle comes in its own distressed diving cage, with the bottle itself having a deep blue pearlescent coating and a tactile embossed finish. I prefer the White bottle. I like the taste, it is nicely intensive and balanced, just a bit on the sweet side. The rum in all the bottles contains 40 % of alcohol and 20-30g/l of sugar. White: Sweeter smell, dominant caramel and sherry. Complemented with vanilla notes, dried fruits and spices. The chocolatey notes are not present. White: It is smooth and sweet but also a bit harsher on the tongue. Quite pronounced woody notes, spices, caramel and hints of vanilla and chocolate. The same is true for the finish, which is not very long but nicely sweet.

Not many have caught a glimpse of The Kraken, let alone lived to tell the tale, but now the dark rum brand has bought The Beast’s finest treasure to the surface – launching the brand new ‘Unknown Deep’ bottle. The new series is themed around the story of a brave crew that discovered The Kraken’s treasure during an ambitious deep-sea dive expedition to find the elusive Beast… And lived to tell the tale!

Ian Amos, operations coordinator at Padi Aware, said: "Kraken Rum has a rich history of supporting marine life, from the smallest sea critters to the biggest sea-dwellers, so we're proud to be working together once again tosave and protect the ocean. Running for over 25 years, Dive Against Debris has been educating and activating recreational and professional scuba divers into citizen scientists, supporting over 170,000 conservation actions in over 182 countries and removing more than one million pieces of debris from The Kraken’s watery playground.

Spiced Rum

Every single bottle sold will help us continue our vital work of removing ocean debris, as well as training new volunteers to help us make an even bigger splash in 2022." The Beast’s dedication to protecting its habitat follows last year’s partnership with Surfers Against Sewage, in which The Kraken helped to protect its fellow sea creatures by aiming to remove one-million tons of plastic from its ocean playground this year.
