About this deal

I presume this is done for safety but I wasn't keen on the short lead. It made it difficult to pull along and the plastic part just seemed far too big. The elder child was unable to pull the dog along comfortably. I would have preferred a removable lead so children could play with just the dog or pull it along when under close adult supervision. Tested by mum Sarah Bashford (nee Douglas) for the M&B Awards 2017: This product has made my life as a mum easier because it has kept my children entertained for a good amount of time. It has also helped my toddler with learning her 123s and her ABCs in a fun way by walking the dog around the house, which she's loved doing and also I've noticed that even in such a short time testing this product her learning has come on well. Get in on letter-learning fun with the Wooden AlphaPup™! Take this cute doggy for a stroll and watch it wobble and light up with engaging phrases and music. Moving helps learning, and this cute pup brings the two together with music and playful sounds that reward little walkers. Sit and explore the letter buttons and soft fabric doggy ears. Push or pull the puppy along to hear the alphabet song and more. The alphabet buttons teach letters and letter sounds and play songs and doggy phrases. This adorable puppy makes a perfect little pal for your developing toddler! This product is made with 100% FSC®-certified (FSC-C113128) wood that comes from well-managed forests. I would recommend LeapFrog AlphaPup as I think it has been good at keeping my child and also my older children entertained. This has been very handy with having a new baby as well as it means they aren't bored whilst I've been feeding their baby sister. It is also fairly small so easy for the children to carry around with them, during their play. My daughters also loved the girlie features of the dog (bow on her ear).

He is very helpful for learning letters and focuses on letter names, sounds AND words. He also sings songs and makes the cutest puppy noises ever. Sometimes the voices they give these types of toys can be very annoying or over-the-top, but this one is just too cute! I don’t find myself getting annoyed, even when my daughter plays with for longer stretches. I also love that there are 2 different volume levels (low and high). Little fingers can press colourful buttons to hear letters A to Z sounded out, words that begin with each letter, and fun phrases that include these words. Press the letter W, for example, and hear “W! Walk! I love going on walks with you!” Connecting letters with their names and sounds are important first steps on the road to reading and spelling. Personalised for every childAlphaPup is available in pink or green and features floppy fabric ears and a cute wagging tail. ” Tested by mum Melissa Allison for the M&B Awards 2017: I had two testers for this product one at the top of the age range and one at the bottom and both absolutely loved it!! The younger one enjoyed the noises, pushing all the buttons and hearing the songs and taking it for walks and the older one really enjoyed the phonics side. A definite perfect product for multiple ages. The two-sided Interactive Learning Easel inspires creativity while also introducing phonics by helping children learn letters, words and shapes. Kids can explore their creative side on the magnetic white board with guidance on how to make pictures or flip the easel to create fun and exciting chalk drawings. Take the Wooden AlphaPup for a stroll and watch as it wobbles and lights up with engaging phrases and music. Little ones will be able to explore the alphabet and letter sounds to help learn phonics and early vocabulary, as well as play songs and doggy phrases. Next, bring learning to musical exploration with four interactive ways to play the Tappin' Colors 2-in-1 Xylophone. This thrilling xylophone will help kids build confidence as they follow the lights to learn how to play well-known tunes while also learning about numbers and colors. We've experienced quite a few 'alphabet' toys over the years and this has definitely been one of my favourite! The phrases are catchy and the voice is clear for learning. We also liked the random phrases it came out with which helped to make the dog seem more real. Our younger tester liked pulling the dog along and seeing it waddle.

Bright interactive buttons, wobbly paw-shaped wheels, floppy ears, and a tail that wags make AlphaPup a truly delightful and lovable learning companion. Children can press a doggie button to hear cute dog phrases and a music note button to play three learning and fun songs, or simply pull AlphaPup along for a combination of pretend play, and musical and physical fun. Learning experts help develop learning experiences

The LeapFrog AlphaPup kept my children entertained for a while which meant I could get on with other jobs, a must with three children and a dog in the house! It was also a great interactive learning toy, with the songs and letters and learning through play is always something I am keen to promote. It is great for helping to teach the alphabet too. I don't really think I would change anything about this product as I really liked it and my kids loved it. If I could say something then it would be to perhaps have it in different body colours to give more choice, but it really was a great design. I also thought the sound was at a perfect level, as some noise toys are really loud, but this one wasn't, it was at a perfect pitch and didn't get irritating like some do. Tested by mum Nicole Woodward for the M&B Awards 2017: Stand up and walk, pulling the puppy along to hear the alphabet song and watch it wobble with a light-up tail. I would definitely recommend LeapFrog AlphaPup to fellow mums. My daughter’s face lit up the moment she saw it and has not stopped playing with it. It came with batteries included which meant my daughter didn't have to wait around she could begin playing with it straight away. It's easy to play with and has lots of buttons for her to press with different phrases with each button.

My 1 year old daughter absolutely loves this pup and plays with him every single day. She can sit and play with him on the floor and push him around or she can pull him along by the string and watch him wobble around. She loves his light up tail and his soft, flappy ears. Our new additions combine the interactive electronic learning features that LeapFrog is known for with the aesthetic and sustainability of eco-friendly toys," said Andy Keimach, President, VTech Electronics North America, LeapFrog's parent company. "These new products give children a way to express themselves creatively, help them build confidence and make learning fun while expanding the use of environmentally-friendly materials." I like the way that it does part of the learning sequence and then you have to pull it along more to hear the next part. I also like that it has a quieter setting too so that if my baby is asleep they can play with it still but on the quieter setting. My daughters have loved playing with this and have even fought over who gets to play with it next.

Provide early exposure to phonics basics, vocabulary, and more while encouraging gross and fine motor skill development. AlphaPup sings three learning songs as your child walks him along; the songs stop when your child stops and then play when your child walks, to make walking a musical and fun play experience. This is a lovely product (despite not being a fan of plastic/sound toys), colourful, gender neutral (though I did notice they do a pup with a pink bone too). My boys (3 & 5) enjoyed playing with the product and it certainly kept them occupied but I think it is still a little old for baby - certainly something she will play with more as she gets a little older. Phonics skills: To read independently, children must understand the relationship between the sounds in spoken words and the letters that represent those sounds.
