About this deal

We also watch Warren and Bridgette grow as both individuals as well as a couple, but I mostly enjoyed the strides that Bridgette took in this book. She still stays true to herself and has a lot of the same traits that make her who she is, but she most definitely softens up a bit particularly toward the end of this book. Being in Warren’s head was a treat. He is just hilarious, yet sweet and sexy at the same time. I knew I would love him even more in this, and I was right. Then there is Bridgett. The things I remember most about Bridgett is that she works at Hooters, she’s kind of bitchy, and has a love hate relationship with Warren. I’m glad we got a little more insight on what is going on in her life. And I’m also glad we found out what was up with Warren’s porn fascination. I pace the room, trying to figure out a solution. She can’t stay here. But I want her to stay. I can’t share a bathroom with her, but I don’t really want anyone else to share a bathroom with her, either. I’m a little bit selfish, apparently. Maggie and Ridge have broken up and Ridge is happily living his life with Sydney, but this book focuses on Maggie and her complex medical diagnosis and how breaking up with Ridge (and subsequently the rest of his clan) brings Maggie’s codependency to light. We learn that not only is Maggie dependent on Ridge, but there is some reciprocity there that is difficult for Sydney to grapple with as she navigates her new relationship. Shit, she hits hard. I still can’t really see her, but I can recognize fists when they’re flying at me. I grab both of her wrists to keep her from assaulting me even more.

We meet Sydney, whose boyfriend has just cheated on her with her roommate, and her guitar-playing neighbor Ridge, who lets Sydney temporarily stay with him when she no longer can look at said roommate. The bathroom door closes in my face and I’m standing in my room again. Still naked. And maybe a little emasculated. Verity follows a struggling writer who accepts an unusual gig: to live in the home of a bestselling author and her husband, tasked with finishing that author's outstanding novels because the famous writer is injured and unable to write. As she rifles through Verity’s office, Lowen Ashleigh finds an unfinished autobiography that reveals a dark family secret. She feels incredible. So good. I'm worried now, because we haven't even had sex yet and I can already tell I'm ruined."I loved Maybe Someday, so when I saw we would get Warren’s story, even if it was a novella, I was so excited. I already loved Warren and now I love him even more. We saw the dynamic between Bridgette and Warren, but I had no idea how funny they both are. She’s so confusing. She’s so frustrating. She’s so damn unpredictable. She’s nothing I’ve ever wanted in a girl, and absolutely everything I need.

This story alternates narration between Sydney and Ridge. This method of storytelling is commonly employed by Hoover and is very effective, as Ridge ends up in quite a tug-of-war with his feelings. It enables the reader to fully feel the palpable struggle he’s experiencing. You can leave, too,” I hear her say to Brennan, right before the door to the living room slams shut. Seconds later, the water begins running in the shower. The sparks flew and this fun enemies-to-lovers novella kept me smiling. Maybe Not shows us a light-hearted, sexy side of Colleen Hoover’s writing and is a real treat for fans of Maybe Someday! :) Colleen Hoover, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe Someday brilliantly brings to life the story of the wonderfully hilarious and charismatic Warren in a new novella, Maybe Not. Brennan glares at me. “She’s not an opportunist, Warren. Trust me on that. And hit on her if you want, I couldn’t care less.”

I love Warren. He is an asshole but in a good way. In the beginning, Bridgette was a bitch but in the end, I liked her too. Aquí podemos conocer un poco más a Bridgette y sus razones para ser como es, aunque no lo comparto. El haber tenido una vida difícil no te da derecho a pagarlo con personas que no tienen la culpa, pero cada quien afronta los problemas de manera diferente. Jasmine Trivia 101: Whatever this lady writes, I read it as soon as it releases even at the expense of my job. Colleen Hoover is my "drop everything right now to read" author and even if I didn't love Ugly Love, my faith in this author never wavers. So imagine my surprise when this was dropped out of nowhere and when I heard it featured my most fav character from Maybe Someday, EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS PUT ON HOLD AND I DO A HAPPY DANCE. The writing style itself is fine, and I think I could enjoy other books by this author with more likable characters. I did like the characters of Ridge, Brennan, and Sydney, so maybe their stories will appeal to me more.
