About this deal

This electric spin mop was very easy to maneuver because its mop head is on a swivel, so we found that it was able to adjust around corners and into tight spaces very well. It has dual circular mop heads that rotate as you push the mop, and dispensing the cleaning solution is as simple as pressing a button. This makes it easier to adjust how much spray you’re using—you can use more solution for tough stains and less if it’s just a light spill. We really liked that the mop head was fast-drying, easy to clean, and free of any signs of lingering smells or odors. After popping the mop head into the laundry, we found that it came out about 98% clean with just a few strands having minimal staining. We cleaned up plenty of messes as we tested these spin mops in our lab. First, we tested how easy each mop was to assemble and the time it took to do so. Then we took the mops for a spin around our dining area to determine their maneuverability. We tested each mop based on how well it could be used going around, under, and up against furniture pieces. Generally, spin mops can last for several years with proper maintenance and care,” he says. “However, some cheaper models may need to be replaced more frequently so it’s important to always follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and caring for your particular model.” While the handle is not adjustable, we thought it was set at a comfortable height—and the mop’s other features, like the cordless power and swivel head, make up for it. It’s effective on wood, tile, linoleum, and other sealed hard floors, and we found that it performed very well on hardwood and grouted floors. We only had to spray a minimal amount of solution to remove different types of stains, with the exception of some mud that remained in the grout.

It is one of the most traditional uses of Mops that are used to clean every corner of the house String mops are ideally used to remove every inch of dust. These are quite good to use as they tend to absorb dirt and does not keep your floor wet as it is semi-dry. It also offers strong scrubbing power. Vimal microfibre twist string mop is budget-friendly and makes the best use of cleaning. Unlike any mop we've ever seen, Melissa Maker's Maker's Clean mop is the first real innovation in traditional floor mops in years. If fact, we were so impressed with how it tested for us that we gave it a Good Housekeeping Best Cleaning Product Award. The mop head is taco-shaped, so it not only cleans flat surfaces with your favorite spray floor cleaner, but it squeezes into narrow spaces, like between the refrigerator and the wall, or around the toilet. The bottom edge fits perfectly into the 90-degree angles of stair treads and risers or along baseboards and floors. Spin mop: Spin mops come two ways. They can be manual or electric. They either have round heads with microfiber strings that clean in all directions or they are electric appliances with spinning microfiber pads. Electric spin mops, like our recommended Bissell, use two rotating microfiber pads to scrub floors with either plain water or a cleaning formula that you dispense from the appliance. The pads are machine washable and reusable and can even be used dry for buffing floors to a shine.

We found that it was effective on both hardwood and grouted tile, though we did have some trouble cleaning between the grout lines with this mop. The good news is that, should you run into that problem, this mop comes with an additional scrub brush, which is helpful for hard-to-reach spots.

We love that it was easy to maneuver around the testing area. Though it got caught in some small corners, we found that its overall movability was good. With a triangle head, it is made to effectively clean corners. For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. Cost of refills: Most mops with disposable cloths require refills specific to the mop brand, and some also require a cleaning solution refill. Over time both of these can get pricey but may be a good option for someone who does not want to worry about storing a damp mop or likes the convenience of disposables. We liked that this spin mop has an easy set up as well as an adjustable handle. We could easily change the length of the handle from 53 inches to 63 inches, making this a great choice for taller users. Its length gained it points in maneuverability as well—it was easy to reach very far with this mop. On top of that, the mop head is made of pliable microfiber strings, so it also fits into tight spaces.

Sponge mop: These mops come in handy when cleaning up a spill since sponges absorb a lot of liquid fast. Most sponge mops are also slim and lightweight, making them a good option for someone who finds other types of mops too heavy or awkward to use or doesn't want to deal with disposable or washable pads. They come with either a roller or butterfly wringing design, and can require a fair bit of strength to thoroughly squeeze out the sponge. Be sure to rinse them well before storing them to control germ growth and odors. Once the sponge mop head gets too dirty to use or it falls apart, it’s time to replace it. If floor cleaning is not your favorite task, a robot mop could be the answer to your prayers. Who knows more about floor-cleaning robots than iRobot, the company that invented the category? iRobot vacuums always do well in GH Cleaning Lab tests, and an early version of this mop model that we tested in our Lab was no exception. Keep in mind that this spin mop takes up quite a bit of space. After testing, we think it is better suited for someone with storage space to spare.

In our recent test of 11 models, this H11 Max from Dreametech was tops in our ease of use tests. It earned a perfect score in six of our eight ease of use categories, and was easy to maneuver around furniture and into tight corners. It weighs almost 11 pounds, but was easy to push because it's self-propelled. During our performance tests it ran for 36 minutes on a single charge and cleaned up spilled ketchup without leaving any streaks behind or causing bigger messes on our test floor, though a few drops of dirty water did dribble out when we lifted it off the floor. We liked the extra fluffy head and lightweight handle, but we did notice that the fluffiness can get caught in tight corners and on furniture edges. We also liked how the mop head is conveniently machine-washable, and is overall more compact for those with limited storage. While this may not be the best option for those with ceramic floors since it tended to push liquids around instead of fully absorbing them, it’s definitely a great option for those who want a budget-friendly mop to clean grout, hardwood, laminate, and cement floors. A spin mop is a device that uses centrifugal force to rotate dirt, dust, and other debris. This causes the particles to become airborne which is then easily vacuumed up. Spin mopping can be used on hardwood floors, tile floors, and even linoleum flooring. We found that the length of this mop’s handle could fit many height preferences, with lengths ranging from 44 inches at its shortest and 58 inches at its highest setting. It was also easy to set up as well as very easy to maneuver due to the soft, absorptive strings on the mop head.
