As a conclusion, I would say that both the Braun Series 7 and the Panasonic Arc 4 score very well in this category, with the Arc 4 having the edge. Price and cost of ownership First of all I think you’ll be very pleased with the closeness regardless of which one you end up buying, particularly if you’re coming from a Series 7. The Panasonics are simply better when it comes to closeness, so I’m sure you will see a significant improvement there.

In fact, it was better than my Arc 4s and on the same level with an Arc 5. If shaving every few days seems to yield the best results, a Braun shaver like the Series 9 or 8 will be ideal since those can deal with longer facial hair really well.

Wet & Dry use

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, these two are arguably the best foil shavers in the mid-range category. I highly recommend a spray lubricant like the Remington Shaver Saver as it seems to make a big difference in the case of Panasonic shavers, extending the lifespan of the blades and foil.
