About this deal

We found moving video footage to be pretty stable thanks to the built in stability control of the drone – according to Parrot this is good in wind conditions of up to 15MPH. Overall If you are looking take decent-quality aerial film footage but do not want to pay the price of a DJI phantom model, look no further than this quadcopter. The onboard 720p HD camera has a 93-degree field of view and records video at 30 FPS and directly sends the footage to a connected HD device.

So, here in this section of the article, you will get to know where your photos are videos are stored. So, this drone comes in a low price range. This drone does not have an option to store pictures captured and videos recorded on the micro SD Card. There is no onboard storage available in this drone. Camera wise, you are getting a 720p HD camera that holds its own among some of the bigger brands and whilst it might not have a built in gimbal it does have 3 axis and 3 accelerometers to ensure smooth flight. The manufacturers recommend that this drone is used by anyone 12 years plus so with some close supervision it is also a drone that the kids can enjoy. Featuring a range of high end features such as altitude hold, one key take off and landing and stepless speed changing, this drone is perfect for beginners and more experienced pilots alike. The version we are featuring here comes with a 5.8GHz LCD FPV monitor to allow you to enjoy an excellent first person view whilst flying your drone. The app itself is well designed and has all the functionality that you would expect from a drone controller. Although we found the app to be pretty well designed and very easy to use we did miss the feel of a real controller in our hands. Added to this that there is the ever so slight lag between using the controls and the reaction on the drone – probably due to the fact that the controller communicates with the drone using WiFi rather than through the usual radio frequencies more commonly used. A relatively new player to the market is the MJX Bugs 2 WiFi drone which has a number of features associated with much more expensive drones. First off, it has an excellent 1080p HD camera on board and also features GPS with a range of up to 1km (0.5km with video for FPV).I strongly recommend that your first flight be outside, in an open area, on a windless day. You can do it inside, but be careful. See " Fragility" below.

If you are looking for a decent FPV drone that is suitable for young people and won’t break the bank then you can’t go far wrong with this drone at the price. The Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Elite Edition comes in a choice of 3 trims; Jungle, Snow and Sand – we opted for Snow and at the time of testing we managed to get a great price on this version compared to the other two. The AR 2.0 EE is ready to fly out of the box. It comes with a charger, battery, drone with built-in camera, and an outdoor and indoor hull. The indoor hull adds a lot of bulk to the drone, and the outdoor hull is lighter and sleeker. The drone comes with two attachable hulls – one for internal use and one for external use – which is very handy, particularly for beginners as it allows different modes of operation whilst you learn. First Impressions The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition is a quadcopter, meaning that it flies similar to a helicopter, but has four rotating blades. The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition measures approximately two feet wide. The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition comes in three different camouflage styles: sand, snow, and jungle. The drone itself is very well designed and made of top quality materials. The advantage of buying this drone over a cheaper one with a cheaper headset is that this headset comes with a built in top quality LCD display that is designed for this exact purpose. You do not have to put your smartphone in and hope for the best – it just works right out of the box.

The Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Elite Edition is one of two different UAVs – Unmanned Aerial Vehicles – in the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 line. The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition is a more inexpensive version, while their Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition has a longer running time and a few differing features. Range: The onboard Wi-Fi extends only about half the length of a football field, and conditions can cause the range to vary, the company says. When the drone is out of range, it will self-stabilize, and you simply move closer and regain control. But it is a frustratingly short range. You can also take off, hover and flip with the single touch of your screen, tweak and perform great maneuvers as you like. Battery Life It has a 3 axis gyroscope and 3 axis accelerometer and connects via bluetooth with a range of 100m for the FlyPad (standard controller) and 30m with your smartphone. The camera has a 120 degree field of vision and can transmit HD images at 60FPS – making it perfect for racing or high speed video. The specs of the Parrot include a powerful ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and it has 1GB of DDR2 RAM. The camera is pretty sufficient for basic use as the Parrot sports a 720p 30FPS HD camera with a 92 degree wide angle lens. It also sports a second (more basic) camera that points vertically which captures video in QVGA at 60FPS.

In fact, this drone is so cheap that it could have featured in our cheaper drones guide – but it holds its own amongst this competition.

The downfall of this drone is that it can only be used with a smartphone or tablet. It connects to its own WiFi, which limits the flight, and can have a poor connection. Flight
