Independent Spirit Awards (SD; 11:29) has Tarantino being interviewed by none other than Michael Moore. Though this might have been ripe for a new Dolby Atmos mix, Paramount has taken the same DTS HD Master Audio from the Blu-ray. Dialogue, which is a staple of Tarantino’s films, sounds crisp and rich. Trust me, there’s no better way to hear Jules’“preaching” than in pure, uncompressed sound. The surrounds also came into play much more than I expected. Little things like a motorcycle starting up or a crowd of people talking (when Butch hits Marcellus with his car). If those opening credits don’t get your heart rate into triple digits, I’m guessing nothing will. Supplements: What are the extras? From the vantage point of this particular reviewer, Pulp Fiction is still the bracingly original masterpiece it was when it was first released. I personally can't think of another film whose two and a half hour (more or less) running time seems to whiz by in the blink of an eye the way Pulp Fiction's does. I was frankly a little astonished when I saw how many Blu-ray.com readers hadn't yet seen Citizen Kane or Ben-Hur, two all-time classics I recently reviewed, so I shouldn't assume that most of those reading this review have already seen Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction handily twists Ben-Hur's straightforward narrative and even out-convolutes Citizen Kane's pretzel logic storytelling to deliver one of the most complex structures in mainstream film of at least the last fifty years, so a plot summary is well nigh impossible.

The Dolby Vision color grading offers a quality suite of critical improvements as well. The grading reveals a more vibrant picture overall, with exteriors like. The film is not abundantly brilliant and superfluously colorful, but tones throughout -- whether clothes, natural greens, the colors Writer-director Quentin Tarantino delivers an unforgettable cast of characters— including a pair of low-rent hit men (John Travolta and Samuel L.Paramount releases Pulp Fiction to the UHD format with a 2160p/Dolby Vision presentation. This hotly anticipated release will not be Charlie Rose Show– A rather long (almost an hour) look at Tarantino’s life. His origin into film, his vast knowledge and everything else relating to the film are all covered here. A bit long, but well worth it. Any Quentin Tarantino movie in 4k is a must for most cinephiles, and Pulp Fiction on 4k Blu-ray is right at the top of the list. As alluded to earlier, watching Pulp Fiction in 4k with HDR is like experiencing the film for the first time. If you’ve got a home theater and projection environment the quality is probably as good, if not better than you could experience in theaters. Pulp Fiction may not provide the best sound experience from beginning to end (at least in our opinion), but the visuals kind of supersede any flaws in audio. This is a must 4k disc for any home theater enthusiast. Scores

type just above center. A Paramount logo appears at the top and UltraHD, Blu-ray, and Miramax logos at the bottom. Through nine films now (counting Kill Bill as one), director Quentin Tarantino has taken us on a hard-boiled, blood-soaked tour of his cinematic roots. Since arriving on the scene with Reservoir Dogs in 1992, he’s paid homage to gangster films, samurai revenge epics, HK cinema, spaghetti westerns, exploitation films, and WWII commando actioners. His most recent and arguably most personal work, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is itself an homage to the place and time of his youth. But of all his films, it’s Pulp Fiction that best represents the Tarantino style in its purest, freest form. right, but when looking at the grading directly compared to the old Blu-ray, the improvements are substantial.

A Blu-ray copy is included, but even though Paramount's press Known for its relentlessly quotable dialogue - rich with razor-sharp wit and incessant pop culture references - for its iconic characters and unforgettable shots; and for its stunning blend of striking, unflinching violence, and ironic humour; for its non-linear narrative and the distinctive style pervading throughout, Pulp Fiction ushered in a new era of crime dramas, with endless imitators but no equals, even from Tarantino himself. Quentin Tarantino isn’t exactly the one-man Hollywood New Wave that some fans would like to believe, but he’s certainly a cinematic wunderkind, whose splashy debut recalls the likes of Orson Welles and Citizen Kane. It’s been widely reported that Tarantino plans to make just one more film and call it quits. For a while, he was circling around a Star Trek sci-fi/gangster project, though that’s since fallen by the wayside. If one looks for genres he hasn’t yet honored, plenty remain to be explored— kaiju films, classic monsters, Hollywood musicals, screwball comedies. But for all the entertainment value that he’s provided over the years, Tarantino hasn’t truly surprised cinephiles since Pulp Fiction. So here’s hoping that he drops the mic with something genuinely unexpected. their own hubs. Paramount Home Media releases Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction (1994) on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray on Dec. 6, 2022. The upgraded film is available in both a standard plastic edition and Limited Edition SteelBook, each with a second copy on 1080p Blu-ray and a code to redeem a Digital Copy. Still, there’s actually one of them who’s not a fan of the film and it’s a nice change of pace instead of another Tarantino praise-fest. remembered as the most gorgeous UHD in existence, but what the picture does do is offer a healthy and naturally occurring image that offers a solid Every sequence is a classic, defined by a studied yet sensationally unpredictable trajectory. How Butch comes to be forgiven by Marsellus after botching a fixed boxing match is perhaps the most memorable, but consider all the mannerisms and subtle symbolism of Vincent’s night out with Mia. Yes, the dance sequence is still one for the ages, as is the adrenaline-shot-to-the-heart scene, but even more so, Vincent’s doped-up wandering through Mia’s living room, to the soulful bop of Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man,” speaks volumes not only to the freedom of Tarantino’s narrative, but to Travolta’s oft-questioned talents as a performer. With the possible exception of Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, there has rarely been such a balanced, honest portrayal of the pleasures and dangers of hard drugs in cinema. Plot: What’s it about? The Bottom Line Plot: What’s it about?Siskel & Ebert At the Movies: The Tarantino Generation– This segment focuses on the film at hand, obviously garnering praise from the two critics. There are many Tarantino fans who consider Pulp Fiction to be his greatest accomplishment. It’s hard to argue that point. The character development, script, acting, and cinematography are all exceptional. The movie was nominated for a total of seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Here’s a review of Quentin Tarantino’s iconic film Pulp Fiction on 4k Blu-ray Disc. Pulp Fiction (1994) 4k Blu-ray screen photo with Uma Thurman Video Quentin Tarantino’s first two films: Reservoir Dogs and now Pulp Fiction, have both benefitted from 4K releases. I had high hopes for this one, having just recently reviewed Reservoir Dogs and was blown away by the image. I’ll get this out of the way first – I did prefer the picture on Reservoir Dogs to this one, but that’s not to say that this one is bad – far from it, actually. This isn’t a night and day difference from the previously-released Blu-ray. In fact, most 4K movies aren’t. Rather, the 2.39:1 HEVC 4K image takes what was good and adds to it. Colors are more vibrant, detail has been increased and with the aid of HDR, many of the scenes have far better contrast. Given that this film was a higher profile movie than its predecessor, I’ve always found it an attractive-looking movie. The bottom line – was it worth the wait? I think it was and what we’ve got is the best this film has ever looked on any home video format. Audio: How does it sound?
