Don’t leave your paint brushes in a water cup for long periods of time. This will distort the bristles causing it to bend and fray. Keep your brushes upright or horizontal to protect the bristles. Keep the ferrule paint-free. The ferrule is the part of the brush that connects the bristles to the handle.
