About this deal

No one knows why Juliette has such incredible power. It feels like a curse, like too great a burden for one person alone to bear. But The Reestablishment sees her as an opportunity. As a deadly weapon. And they'll stop at nothing to shape her into what they want. The writing was creative and easy to get through. I find a lot of books nowadays are hard to digest, I trip over the jagged rises and falls of the sentences, but shatter me wasn’t like that one bit. It was creative without being over the top or superfluous. I also really enjoyed the POV. Basically it was really easy to get inside Juliette’s head and reside their, taking in what she took in how she perceived it. Mafi combines a psychological opener with an action-adventure denouement in her YA debut. This is a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.”— Publishers Weekly Mi è piaciuto tantissimo Kenji.

Aaron Warner. Period. Warner is one of my favorite parts of this series. He is my favorite book boyfriend out of all the books I’ve read for many reasons. I’ll name a few. I think Shatter Me is hands down the best book series I’ve read and I’ve read a lot of books. The Shatter me series has so many aspects that make it amazing, but I’ll name the main ones. There are different races and cultures included in this series, along with different sexualities. This series feels like a group hug that anyone is welcome to join. There’s some comedic relief thanks to the character Kenji. His character is pretty funny and almost every interaction he and Warner have made me smile. (It’s not because they get along though teehee).

I still think the writing at the beginning of the book was intriguing and clever, the issue is Mafi dropped the charade too easily. Juliette, in all rights, should be insane, or at the very least, she should have severe PTSD and attachment issues. She had zero healthy relationships as a kid, she didn't get the motherly nurturing and physical affection children need, she didn't have friends to develop social skills, she was in solitary confinement without seeing another human for almost an entire year—as a TEENAGER. She had to shower in the dark and eat gross food. I assumed, since it was so played up at the beginning of the first book, that she was going to have mental health struggles. Like her sanity would genuinely come into question. I thought that was going to be one of her obstacles. It really wasn’t. And maybe Mafi planned on fleshing out her mental problems in the later books. Perhaps her fleeing with Adam completely unprecedented was a form of attachment issues (even though she hardly remembered the guy and they never even talked, but yeah sure, they’re in love). If she had stayed true to her original writing I would have liked the books better, but she dropped the originality for something generic. It became superfluous and distracting.world building: the world's aesthetic was really satisfying and beautiful, but the world building overall wasn't as interesting as I wanted it to be. Ero così fiera di Juliette. L’ho vista crescere, cambiare e maturare.

Did not wow me, the plot pulled me in but romance fuels me and I really wasnt feeling adam or warner. Adam was so boring it was deadly, nothing about their relationship was original and he was SO clingy. Warner was the worst person to ever live and when I heard everyone saying he was the 'booktok it boy' I wasnt expecting him to be like.. that. The plot was pretty good, I was pulled in with the main character being seen as 'insane.' È un distopico o no? To any girl who meets a boy who was "broken" by the way someone in his life treated him, who gets treated horribly by this boy -- run. His brokenness does not make it okay for him to hurt you. His brokenness does not mean that he deserves your forgiveness. There are plenty of people who suffer abuse and do not lash out and abuse the people they "love."
